Bad yes. Immaterial? No. I'm just suggesting that your post (the first one to which I responded) wasn't complete. There are many many people who delight in their privileged status, and whose instinctive response to the suffering of others ... is to be relieved that is is that of others. Your first post left no room for their reasonable existence. cn

Everyone besides me in my family loves Jesus. Them and the rest of church people all say the garbage, "god is perfect and so are his creations. We humans are given the choice of imperfection through the devil. Your only salvation is the grace of god through Jesus who died for your sins"

In "The Giver," it looks like perfection. But even before the truth was revealed, I didn 't consider the socialist community in the book as perfect.
Man's problem is mistrust.
