ph and super soil

i have seen people say that with supersoil you just feed water and the soil will take care of the ph.

if someone has say 8.0 or higher ph does this still apply? for example i have seen water with ph this high stunt the growth of saplings after germination and all together stunt plants in flowering. but then again i heard that if you use ph down your grow is no longer organic and you could be screwing up the micro.

so what is it? thanks

add some apple cider vinegar and call it a day
ok. does anyone know up to how high amended organic soil will handle buffering ones ph? like what would be the recommended cutoff to where using acv is absolutely necessary. just trying to get an idea as to what kind of work the micro in the soil handles.

8 is a bit high, you will want to bring it down....dolomite does a great job buffering though, and remember, as the peat and coco break down throughout the grow, the ph will come down a bit. i would get some organic acv with the mother, made by braggs......the bennies in the soil will like it, and you can still be organic...good luck, nugs

p.s. make sure you test your tds of your alkaline h2o.....usually it can be quite hard, and you will want to remedy that imho.

lets say the process goes like this. out of the tap tested ph is mid 7s. from there it goes into a 5 gallon with an airstone on a timer to bubble once a day for 2hrs right before watering. this sitting five gallon is ph tested and amended then used for watering and the ph is always higher than what it would be at the tap. dont fully understand that. recently, distilled and amended water has been used for saplings once the alkalinity stunting was realized. but for use of the hard and alkaline tap water what would make it plant ready? filtration?

yep.....test your tds.....if your water is 7.5 out of the tap....it is prob more of a tds matter than ph.
