Help me fellow stoners

Hey People

Im a first time grower. Iv got a little setup in the bottom of a old fridge/freezer (not plugged in!). Im growing 1 Diesel Ryder (auto). I need advice on whether my set up is good enough, but i don't care about it being the best.

I have 2 x 2700k lights about 2" distance over it
A big pot with holes in the bottom
A fan
Biobizz mixed with a little bit of soil from outside
Water left out for a couple of days, so iv been told to do.

I am just wondering if i should get 1 more red spec light for the flowering stage and have 3 6500k blue spec for the veg stage, as im only growing 1 for a tester.

Would that be too much light?

How far must the blue spec lights be from the plant itself?

How many weeks into the entire growth would i need to use the blue spec? how do i know when its vegging?

If sticking to your ideas, roughly what would my yield be?

Please answer all and thanks for your help.

First thing, know it is dodgy as hell to use any soil from outside. You are inviting infestation, contamination and all sorts of problems from using it. Only use the most expensive growing medium you can afford.

Make sure your box has fresh air circulating, so intake holes and a fan to suck out stale air.

With light, i dont hink you can have too much light, just too much heat. Keep an eye on temps.

And you will know when its ready to flower because it will flower. You are using an auto, just let it grow =)

If your asking "would that be to much light" and "How do i know its vegging" then you probably haven't reserched for more than 30 minutes. To answer your questions, it's best to get as much light as you can in the area you are growing in (cause your not using an HPS). And for the question about knowing when you mj plant is vegging(if you dont know this you shouldnt even attempt to grow), well some people refer to the vegging period as the time after the first two leafs appear on your seedling. You can keep your plant in a vegetative state for as long as you want, as long as there is more than 12 hours of light (18/6 etc.). You can induce flowering by switching your light schedule to a 12/12 cycle (12 hours of light and 12 hours of dark). Keep the lights as close as possible to the lights but not enough to burn them, with Flurescents 2-3 inches is sufficient.
Good luck with what seems to be your first grow, and please do research a little more (it will be the difference between failing and successfully growing a nice plant).

Yes it is my first time. So im using the wrong bulbs? i thought vegging is when you start to get bud? must be the other way round. so do i start on 6500k and when flowering i move to 2700k. help! please!

Mate, your plant is AUTO! Vegging and flowering cycles mean nothing, your plant will bud when it wants to bud. Please read through the newbie forums, learn what different types of plants there are, different lights, stages, etc etc. Just READ.

wow lots of negativity here. Got to expect it these days. Your lighting set up will work fine. get your light as close to the plants as possible without heat becoming and issue. Just use your hand as a guide. Plants can benefit from a blue spectrum in all stages of growth, the red is more for flowering, but can also be used during veg. With one diesel auto, it really depends on how big it gets. I've seen some yield 4 ounces and some smaller autos yield under an ounce. your soil mixture will work fine. There is nothing wrong with soil from outside,(thats where the plants grew to begin with) . Just focus on keeping her green healthy and happy and the yield will come with it. Good luck. What's up boss? Google and youtube are your friends! You def need to do some research but it's all good. I've got a noob friendly book that will prolly help you out tons.
