Imo socialism dooms a nation implementing it to takeover by authoritarians. Marxism applied to a real world nation acquires a hyphen, as in the bellwether example: Marxism-Leninism. That's because pure Marxism is a bit abstract for the task of governing a nation. The hyphen is the wedge by which man's predatory nature is granted entry into the fabric, and the rest is all downhill. Enter Stalin, Ceausescu, a dynasty of Kims, and even the odd Pol Pot or two. cn
