i hear this almost daily, folk buy fem seeds and get hemi plants
not saying it cant happen with regular seeds but its is much less often
looking on attitude most of their best selling strains/seeds are fems .. with so many folk growing fem seeds these days
it is no wonder people are obsessed with hemis

when i started growing there were no fem strains only regular seeds
i always buy regular seeds out of habbit and the fact i have only seen a few hemi plants from regualr seeds in many years from many strains,
i just keep doing what works ,
i don't have anything against fem seeds, i can see why new growers go for them, or people with very small spaces

i have grown s1s from my own plants that are fem and were fine, and free fem seeds that were also fine and quite a few that turned hemi at different stages of growth

some of the seed breeders i am sure go to every possible length to ensure the seeds are less likely to hemi,
they are produced from parent stock that was forced to show hemi traits, and did not show them easy, or they were over-matured and again reluctantly showed minor hemi traits

the problem is in order to produce lots of seeds they need lots of pollen and some breeders will choose phenos that show hemi traits very easy .. this trait is more likely to be passed on to future generations resulting in hemi offspring ..
imo the hemi problem is not fems themselves it is bad quility breeders cashing in , that put the quick money before their love of the weed

peace :)

they wernt fems, called them Selfed.
Look at sams early seed lists for Haze,
See some of Nev's seedbank lists.

Problem is like you mentioned ppl think hermie hybrids make fem seed.
No they make a herm/fem seed batch, more so with plants that herm in the first 7 weeks.

As for some earlier "all plants being able to herm....."

Go try your hardest with a pure exodus cheese. (many have claimed to and millions have tried)

A good stable breeder of marijuana looks for hermi free seeds, when making fems the female is normaly stress tested . Another problem being over looked is basic testing (well actualy they do as freebies, they pretend their established and stable)

As for the dude growing out his lucky 7, blue cheese and hermies. (why)? Blue cheese alone is a potent smoke, When you sat pollenated plants are as potent as un pollenated you have no clue on the plant.
Once the pollen that trichomes are designed to catch is taken the energy goes into seed production.

too true m8, i see some guys here were recently growing this strain called dogkush, it even comes with a hemi warning from the breeder lol

from breeders boutique
The DOG is a strain that has come from a female Headband that has hermied and developed male flowers half way through the flowering period. One of the males flowers was used to pollinate an OG Kush female and provided a number of seeds that have all turned out feminized. The strain, like the parent, produces some plants that throw out male pods. This is reasonably controllable and once removed tend not to return. Further tests have been done on the clone of one of the particular pheno’s that produced the male pods to see if cloning removes this trait which it has shown to do in the parent Headband and all subsequent generations showed no sign of producing any males plant parts

It is definitely not fems themselves. I have grown out way too many stable fems to believe fems are the problem.
At the same time you notice its hermies from the same companies over and over.
I am pretty damned sure that OG Kush is hermie prone and pretty much any OG cross will have the tendency to go herm if you dont baby the shit out of it.
