And I thought someone said contractor, not contactor--- Yes, those r definately advisable, and the little plug in ones for a table lamp, with a current carrying capacity of like 10 or 15 Amps sure do cause alot of fires when they r overloaded, as I have seen all too much as a wireman... But there r even better ones, like the kind I use, that we use in huge warehouses, and in industrial facilities, that u dont just plug up... The magnetic coil contactors I use actually have to be mounted inside of a large enough electrical box(like a Hoffman box of any size, depending on how much space u need), and controlled by a time clock, or multiple time clocks and controls for independant switching and specific timing of different ballasts... The ones u show r ok though...
I agree that if you know anyone with electrician skills that you can trust, just ask them about your setup. A second opinion even. Good things to know are how much ampage your circuit can take, the circuit that the light is plugged into. I had to have someone show me.
