Why do ppl remove all the fan leaves mid way into flower? Sugar fan and waterleaf.

usually remove larger fan leaves up top to allow light to penetrate. not really needed in flower....i'm not saying rip them all out, but gradually remove or tuck if possible.
 
The only thing that will ever make anyone's buds bigger and more potent are the leaves that feed and grow the buds. Its along the lines of No Roots, No Fruits. If you have little foliage , expect a lower yield and a lower potency. The bigger your roots the bigger your fruits. The healthier and more plenty full your foliage, the healthier and more bountiful your harvest :)

so ur saying ur never have fluff nugs at the bottom of your plant? y is scrog so beneficial? because u train tops to 1 level and light equally get to all... thats y its so good to lollipop because usually ur lower nugs dont get as much light... i dont care how much u feed it.
 
I get 6 ozers and up in 2 gallon potters.... I strip off the leaves gradually the last 2-3 weeks of flower.....Only on certain strains

George is outside :)...inside production is not the same...Im Georges age and been growing since I was 15 :)

Leaves play a small role.... its genetics and growing conditions that produce fat tops


Example...not alot of leaves in this ozer top.....see how this strains genetics dictate few leaves within the buds structure

On the flip side....look how this strains genetics dictate a mass amount of leaves for bud production

Hey Colonuggs, nice ladies in the pictures, good job, sir :D

I do prune weak leaves in the bottom and it will redirect enegry to the big buds thats where i want them to....but recently i snipped veg plants 4 or 5 nodes before i bury those stems (repot into final home) and i noticed it grow vigrous and stronger too. just like tomatoes.

beutiful plants but aren't they root bound as hell in those pots? wouldn't bigger pots increase the yeild even more so?

No .....there is no rootbound.... just the need to water more often.

I only veg for 6-8 weeks and I transplant every 2 weeks into bigger potters.


This is my SLH....in a 3 quart potter....vegged for 5 weeks trippled size in onset... now its 4ft x 3 ft in less than a gallon potter

Notice how the top section of the plant the leaves are curling.....thats because that section of the plant is above my hoods.. above the lights :)

i have seen and tried this method myself and it hasn't affected my plants in no way. the key is to take a couple off at a time and not all at once.
 
When I LST I find that trimming some of the leaves is neccesary, when I went to 12/12 i had over 40 budsites ready to produce bud, and probably 1/3 of all fan leaves removed. Plant is doin fantastic, so much better than last time, when i just let it grow. IMO removing some of the leaves to open up budsites is a no brainer. Just dont remove them all.
 
mainly because they don't know any better and like someone above posted...they are stupid. the leaves are needed to help the plant finish out its cycle. so cut them if you want to but we never have and won't.

yup, the guy I know did it in mid bud peak!After he saw my grow he said 'm not doing that next grow :wall:
 
some is probably okay and if you're happy with your yield then by all means. we always have adequate light sometimes i think too much so we don't trim anything green.

Well i hope you dont top or lollipop or any thing like that or your just a hypocrite....people manipulate plants unnaturally all the time to increas sise and yield....
