Clone to Outdoor..

Hey everyone, I am new to this site, the forums, and growing canabis in general.
I'd just like to post here to get any sort of input (negative or positive) and any advice is appreciated.
I recently purchased two clones from a local dispensery with plans to move them outside.
They OG Kush clones and one (Precious) is short and stubby standing 14in. with quite a few leaves & Bones is tall and skinny at 22in with less leaves.

I suppose my main questions are:
Should my plants already be in the natural sunlight?
Should I be mixing more nutrients with the water?
Should I be using a pesticide? If so, what kind?
Should I be watering more often then every 3 days?
Should I be adding a couple hours more light after sunset to increase growth in vegetative state?
Should I add the Unsulphered Molasses? If so, how much and how often?

I am attaching photos of my clones for anyone who wants to get a better idea of their health and looks.

I wouldn't yet till there's a problem. I plant marigold around mine they are a natural bug replant

Depends, if your girls need water or not. Here's the lift method
The "lift the pot" method is a widely practiced, and very accurate method of knowing when to water your container plants.

The best way imho, to know when soil grown potted plants need more watering is by checking how heavy the pots feel. This method is very simple to learn once you get the feel for how light a ready for watering pot of soil feels.

Get an equal size pot and fill it with your soil. The medium should be about as moist as a new bag of potting soil. Use this planter as a learning tool to get a rough idea of how much the pots should weigh before watering again. The pots with your plants will feel only just slightly heavier when the soil is ready for more water. Pick up one of your planted pots, if its noticably heavy, do not water it until it feels "light". Next time you water a planter, pick it up and feel how much heavier it feels compared to the sample pot of soil.

It only takes a few times picking up the pots until this skill is like a "second nature" to you. You wont even need the sample pot after you get accustomed to the lifting method.

Sure your plants are always putting on more weight as they grow larger, but once you're proficient at lifting the pots, you'll also know how to compensate for the weight of the plants with ease.

I dont know how to better explain this method of knowing when to water, but believe me, anyone who learns this method, will always know when its time to water.

I would just let mother nature take over. It will be ok.

You were of great help. I am in the San Francisco Bay Area where it is already getting into the mid 80's if that's any consolation to whether or not my plant should be outside. I'll sincerely take your advice into consideration. I did end up mixing the molasses with the water and watered them with 1/2 gallon each earlier. I plan to get another pot and learn the lifting method though. It sounds like a swell one to have under your belt.

Yes, the lows have been in the mid 50's here at night. Not too cold at all. A few leaves on my clones have browning and are drying. I don't think it's a very big deal considering I've put them through a lot with transplanting them from indoor to outdoor in the past week. Ill just let the sun take over and see how they go Thanks again!

Weed is a hardy plant, thank goodness. I have put a few through their paces, over the years.
Can you grow outdoor year around? Or to far north?
When we were in Monterey, we did.

I doubt I will be able to grow year round. I am in the East San Francisco bay area and we typically get a freeze month in January or February in which the highs may only be in the low 50's. It may be a good natural shock for the plant if I plan the flowering stage to be in that month but then again I am still new to growing and could be completely wrong about the "shocking" of the plant. I will most likely purchase a small 6 plant hydroponics set to get me through the Winter months.

put your plants in the shadows for a day or two, then put them out in sunlight for a few hours and see how they react. if the leaves curl, back to the shadows. the wont need nutes unless your soil doesnt have any in it, i dont usually need nutrients for clones after transplant, nutes usually last about a month and a half. for an organicide, use garlic and marigold flowers in a foliar spray. its completely organic, you can even do it during early flower and it wont have an effect. also, on the outsides of your pots you can put epsom salt around and use some canola oil in foliar spray, if bugs step on this oil they'll stick. this goes for ants, gnats, caterpillars etc. spray it on your pots, use about 1 teaspoon if you wanna use it on the plant as well, it works as a good wetting agent as well. you can spray these every 4-5 days, i dont do the canola oil in flower though, only on the pots and surround area. if your pot dries up fast enough, yes you can water every two days. if you get a heavy rain, poke extra holes on the bottom of your pot so no water can sit in the pot and cause overwater. poking holes in the top soil is good as well, poke the holes down as deep as possible so the moisture can wick out, breaking the roots also helps growth of new roots. yes, if you add light after the sun goes down the growth will be more rapid. and yes, molasses is good to feed microbes. add some roots from some weeds in your yard, fast growing ones. they have microbes. add these to your water, and add about a teaspoon of molasses per gallon. you should add an airstone and let it sit for 2-3 so the microbes reproduce or you can add more roots to the mix. you can also add your nutes to this, i wouldnt recommend using salt based although.

If they have been under lights you need to harden them befor full sun. To do this it will take a week. You need to take them out erly in the morning. Same time everyday. Start out with 1 hour then back in under light. Next day 2 hours. Once you get to 8 hours they are ready for full out doors. Water when soil is dry. Maybe every 2 days.

Update: So after about two weeks of babying both plants Precious (the bushy one) has taken well to the sun and is growing nicely. On the other hand Bones has lost some leaves but is beginning to root well. I did take her indoor and put her under 4 CFL's when she was at her worst then decided to put her back outdoors.. I'm not going to baby her any more. She can ride it out. She might be a bit of a slower grower but I think she'll be looking good soon. Thanks everyone for the advice!

I wouldn't use the molasses till they are flowering. Clones in Nor Cal usually get put outside on June 1st unless in a green house with 18 hours of light till June.
