I have room to use gardening string to move nodes further out, this will create a wider collection of light and cover less of the bud mass and also help lower leaves to also get light but tops of colas all apart from the main cola will be further away from the light? which way do you all believe would be better for these last 3 odd weeks?

If to use string to bush out the plant, What to attach to strings to use as a counterweight to hold branches down a bit but not too far to the point where they will be risking snapping/stressing the branches?
not sure about this one
you should have done this a week before you flower
on one hand it will give you more light cover, so in turn could in crease your bud size
on the other hand if you pull the branches down to much it could stress to the plant and could easy snap a branch
and slow down the bud growth
if the branch do not move easy, leave it
and if they do move easy, tie them down a little just 4-5" all the way round,it will make the plant 8-10" wider and should not stress the plants to much
how high is your light from the canopy (should be between 16"-20") any higher and you could end up with airy buds

try buying some thick garden wire and cut it to size you need and make a hock on both ends
hock round rim of the pot and round the branch
its a lot easier and when your finished with it, keep it and re use it on your next grow
if done right, it do not just hold branch down it supports the branch to

Might just attached the string to pens as they would be a light counterweight i would only be able to do it in the most crucial areas but any difference helps...

So long as nothing snaps there will be no stress at all because plants move to face the sun in nature anyway so re-adjusting after tying down does nothing bad :) just do it gently!

i will show you
like :) lol make little metal hooks to hook to the rim of the pot and tie the string to that.

OR

Screw some screws into the rim of the pots and tie string to it, though I do this right at the beginning as pot prep :)

i did not use string
its wire with hook on both ends
one end goes round the branch
and one goes under the rim round the pot
string is a pain to use
my hock ideal takes less than a min to cut shape and pull branch down
and a second to take it off
and less than 5 seconds to put it back on
try it and you will see, trust me you will never use string again for this

I saw, was just suggesting tying string a bit higher up. I usually use the lil hook type deals at the beginning to hold down the main branches but they don't putt em out very far if needed, well not that they are needed because I ScrOG :)

When I use string I make a huge loop so I'm not putting knots around my stems and it's easy to take off.

I'll see though 18l pots they are plastic may be very hard to get a hook or screw through this is rather thick and inflexible plastic

getting a screw thru is a piece of piss, you can make a pilot hole with a pointy object like an electricians screwdriver and the screws go in easy as.

ok may that work better for a full scrog
i have not done a full scrog
but have done scrog on individual plants and it works well
i can adjust each plant height and spread to easily gain the most light cover and size of screen
if anythings goes wrong i can remove one plant (sick,Hermy, ect) have been Lucky so far
but it will happen one day.
