Ok I have tried for years to get a mango seed to start, fromthe fruit not a commercial item. I have dried and scrubbed the seed. I have leftthe seed wet... I can sprout just about any seed, but this one...

Does anyone have experience with Mango seeds or any “Try this”ideas? I will do my part and eat a Mango a day to get the seed. ///
Any impute will be cool
PS the board is changing my post. Sorry for run on words, it’snot me :shock:

Hi all,
I lived in HI for a while...

can't help with sprouting one. I would presume it is best to have one that was "ripe on the vine" to ensure the seed is mature. If you like mangos...enough seed and surely one will sprout.
I would presume they will do well in hydro...however [you knew that was coming], mango trees get VERY large...I've seen many that had a 3ft trunk dia at chest height.

Azoned

Seems I had some sprout. Think I slammed 'em in the dirt...watered and waited...

I dont think they will work in hydro. From what I've read, mangos prefer dryer soil so Idk if hydro would work too well. I'd like to give it a whirl tho! I think I'll go get another mango and try again. maybe let it ripen a bit more after I get it
