What is the Shelf Life of Inline Fans?

Did you wait and see if it would turn back on? Many have automatic thermal overload protection and will turn back on once cool enough.

ok heres a nerd statement....shelflife= how long it can store in an unused unopened condition.....service life= how long in hours will my item work...lol, sorry to hear about the fan, it was a bunk model or a factory fukup...really have never seen a good fan last less than 5 years..and some up to 15 or 20....better luck in the future.

Been running mine for 6 + yrs. No problems. Sounds like you got a lemon, no matter what the brand, they should last for years.

Either you got a lemon like gladstone says, and it happens more often than one would think, or you had some back pressure on it. THAT will burn out a fan quick.

Ahh dude, sorry to say but that is a piece of shit fan. It should last longer than a month but it won't last as long as a Can-Fan, Max-Fan, or similar. You do get what you pay for and sometimes saving money is just not an option that gives you desirable results.
