dont worry.. once they see how much tourist money they are losing from this.. they will reverse it in a year.. OBVIOUSLY they havent thought about the economic consequences of doing this... this is like Florida saying foreigners cant come to disney land...

the government is filled is idiots who generate nothing but dumb ideas
I doubt they will reverse this that quick as it only goes into effect in some popular places in May, the ban is to go nationwide by the end of the year proper gutted...

I've got a few dutch mates who were telling me about the government collapsing, and how it is really bad news for social welfare etc. But also, with a collapsing government there is alot of uncertainty, so its not over till the fat lady sings. These law changes have always been looming over The Netherlands, at least over the last 7-8 years I have been visiting. I'm sure the people at the top are aware of the ecconomic repercussions of keeping foreigners out of the coffee shops, I hope this will help sway things like it has done up untill this point.
Well put MysticMorris. Most coffeshop owners report that they face losing 90% of there business because of this new law. Amsterdam will have it's own recession within the space of 3 years if they don't compromise and loosen up.

No bother.. can get top grade skunk here in the UK
No bother to someone like you, who has obviously never had a true Amsterdam experience! That experience is what makes tourists go back year after year (or month after month!), not buying bags of skunk. .....

One hope would be the European Union overturning it on the grounds the law discriminates against some EU citizens since German and Belgian tourists will still be allowed to go to some coffee shops, while French and English tourists won't. I gotta think in the E.U. that's a no-no.

Who knows, maybe California will see the opportunity for cash and allow coffee shops thus replacing Amsterdam. I could go for a career change :).

Yeah I've been to the dam twice my friend, I wasn't blown away by the weed by any means it was on the same par as the stuff I get & grow here. Maybe you get some nasty shwag where you live.. I did try Jack Herer there in The Grasshopper for the first time & that was awesome.

I'm spoiled for choice were i live buddie i don't accept nasty shwag, i've made many enemies turning people down for weed not up to my standards. I also only go to certain tried and tested coffeshops that has a few well grown strains on there menu's, its still a great getaway with the lads! Or was should i say..... It was even harder to find a decent looking hooker in the dam though when my wife was 7 months pregnant! ........

California would be a great idea for anyone that lives within a couple hundred mile radius. I doubt anyone in the UK would travel thousands of miles!

I know man that's fucked up how they are basically saying the law only applys yo you based on where your from! (Supposedly English and French tourists pose a higher risk of importing drugs!)

Economically this will fail. A economy based on the coffee shops and tourists has been in place for decades, can not just dump all that. Money rules all or that is how I see it.

So glad I live in Cali. Have my babies ready to flower and a harvest 3 months off. No dealers giving me whatever they have at the time, no coffee shops to sort through. I do not even go to the dispensaries any more, no need. Gloating am I? hehe Just thankful. Wished I lived in Holland many years ago....
