Best of luck to ya man, you got a journal ?

|Thread Post Copy| - This is the work I was doing on my grow box, but I'll share with you guys too.

Here we are, mounted and running. I did it a little different though....

So I scrapped the white fan (3rd fan I bought for this project :wall:) cut out the section where all the holes were then fitted the fan and screwed it on the back where the holes were. Taped up the crease's so the fan actually works, and also tapped up the holes on the side and top.

Hope it works!

And heres just a picture of my favourite seven leaves and my little guy as of today.

So today marks the day where things will either start going really bad, really good, or hopefully no change at all. What do I mean by this exactly?

Well today I moved back home. The house the plant at is my temp house when I go to school. Now being almost a month in I cant scrap the little guy and I cant bring him home, so its time to survive on himself.

As you can see with the CPU Fan installed on the back airflow will never stop. The light is hooked into a timer, 20/4 , 19.5/4.5 one of the two, and as for watering....well.....lets hope for the best.

Il do my best to make it back to the house every 4-5 days to check on the plant but I hope it can survive that long without a fresh watering.

Ill be posting pics whenever I go to check up on it, so as far as this journal goes. Its going to slow down hcore :/

Thanks man! I'm nervous about it haha, I moved away from it so I cant keep constantly checking up on it every 4-5 hours lol. Im going to check on it tomorrow night, I bought some soft white bulbs too, 2700k, I got 2 I think Im going to get 2 more and leave the 65's in then add the 4 27's. Hopefully I see results.

Oh! Lighting update to. I got some adapters and shit, Il post a pic tomorrow, but I broke one of my 65s in my hand, shitty :/

BUT

I got some new adapters, A T and Y, T is 2 side sockets and a socket staight up. The Y is on the middle one, then I have the 1 65 on one of the side sockets, and the 27s in the Y.

I hope it works well. I might go get another 65, or maybe I should get another 27?

Hmmmm

I changed the lighting one last time hahah. I took out the two top lights, and one of the 27's. Instead now its just the bottom 4, 3 27's and 1 65. 7

Put a fan in there yesterday but It warped the plant some last night so I took it out.

Hopefully I'll install that other CPU fan, just need to figure the power supply thing out.

Other than that I gotta take off again today, I'll be back Thursday/Friday!

For my CPU fans i used a plug to USB socket and wired up the fans to a USB wire. Also the grow is looking good mate, I think you should make some lamp shades for your bulbs and just the light focused on your plant though :)

Well since its an autoflower the seedling stage was veg, and from day 1 I had it under 2 23w[100w ew] 6500's and the growth was awesome and she seems healthy so.

Y splitters 3 bucks from Home Depot.

ANOTHER QUESTION:

She seems to just keep getting bigger, her roots are crawling out the drain holes in the 10' pot. Is it time to go bigger? Another transplant?

I couldn't find any at mine :( Did you get the 23W from there too. My HD didn't have 23, only 14.

Be careful plugging socket splitters into socket splitters too much -- remember that you need to be thinking about the total wattage passing through the first socket when you do that. Wouldn't want a fire!

Yup got everything except the soil and nutes from HD and Wal-Mart, but I'm also from Canada and we have some type of lighting thing on for CFL's so my HD had a massive stock. An entire wall full of different CFL bulbs actually.

The too much lighting thing I had wondered about, but Im thinking/hoping it isnt to much. 1 T, with 2 Y's and 4 23w[100w eq] lights. Shouldnt be too much. I hope lol

I'd mainly be worried about your original socket. It looks like a regular lamp socket, and those are often rated 60w, occasionally 100 or 150w. If it's 60w, you're probably over it already, and definitely will be if you add any more lights later. If it's 100w, you're right at the limit, which means no more lights should be added. It doesn't look like a utility/high wattage socket to me, so I'd guess it's not 150w or up. To be safe, your best bet would be to get a high wattage (ceramic maybe) clamp light from Home Depot. They have ones rated to 250w for pretty cheap in the "work lights" section (instead of the lamps section). You can remove the reflector usually and just use the socket. The power cable is also usually nice and thick, able to handle quite a bit of lighting if need be.

That's what I would recommend for the long haul, even if it seems like your current setup is working okay for the short run.

EDIT: I realized you were referring to the color temp (6500k) not the wattage (65w) when you said you had one 65. That changes my analysis, which I updated.
