Looks great. In the future you might want to check these out -

For fixtures I would recommend cheap bathroom vanity lights. These 4 bulb fixtures are only $4.50 and feature a ceramic socket http://www.lightingdirect.com/maxim-...ection/p860557

You can easily make adjustable reflectors... with Y splitters you can easily double your wattage...

They come in 4 bulb, 6, 8, 10, ... all the way to like 24 bulb fixtures.

Thanks for the reply Gastanker.

Well damn, that would have made things much easier haha. O well, it was fun putting my own fixture together, and I got a 6 light fixture I desired.

I plan on a 3 plant grow with the fixture I have made do you think this setup with be sufficient for that? I would be vegging for about a month. Thanks!

a little pricy when your buying 12 bulbs, but wally world has 42 watt cfls 2700k at around 4 dollars right now, good step up from the 23 watters in flower I'd say.

The good thing is that I already have my CFL's for veg and flowering. 12 - 23 watts for veg and 12 - 42 watts for flowering. So I am set there thankfully. Appreciate the price saving advise though, hopefully someone else can go grab a deal.

Search for deals. I bought 4 6bulb fixtures for $6 a piece. Great for DIY projects -

Those look like some happy Tetras, I bet they feel the DIY love.

I am sure that you already know this but just for saftey sake be really careful about getting water on those bulbs. I have heard horror stories about them exploding when people have accidentally spayed them with water.

Of course. I have quite a few tanks - all of which run off compact fluorescents and several are not not DIY - CFLs are pretty standard in the tank world.
