Your spectra is v3, lowered power supply... the 3ft was more for the v1 and v2 hard driven power supply.

Do u have a few cfls 2700/5600? If u are not obsessed to use solely leds, throw those in down the canopy, have the panels around 24" and try to play with nutes, forgetting about when you used hps just for now.
I personally improved spectra issues adding a few 40w ish cfl/induction

If you're getting good results they're not a waste :) no experience with spectras myself but i'm happy with my blackstars and led haters/led snobs think they're crap :)

i have the v1s with reduced power supplies. Still terrible issues. the power supply change was a desperate attempt to quick fix a light that was never tested before it was sold and it barely puts a a band-aid on it. Even the reduced wattages require added distance in my exp.

I think they dont even cut it in veg...

They kill seedlings... you really have to be very carefull in seedling stage... normal veg they are fine, but so is everything else...

SHwag? how can 3000w of led not flower?? GLH red sepctrum too strong?

Some think its a combination of the light intensity and possibly causing them to burn through some micros creating a chain reaction of plant processes to start locking shit out. All I know is the lights didn't flower for shit in my box. I'm no expert, but I recommend offing the lights and getting an HID dude. Spectra is toast, I don't see how they can recover from this.

I have some working nicely in veg for me, but they're in a supersoil/peat mix. I do cuttings and small veg in T5, then move them to the LED tent for 2-3 weeks in their flowering pot before the switch. Some of the healthiest vegging plants I've grown and they aren't chugging through water. I hope you can find a use for them somewhere but I'm done indefinitely playing with LEDS.

I agree that it's a combination of light intensity and spectrum. My plants couldn't up take Ca and Mg fast enough, and they were doing the "far red super stretch" thing that was just killing me. Once I added in 20% more wattage of full spectrum my plants snapped into overdrive. Before I added new light I tried every nute combo imaginable to try to fix the issue. After I backed off the light (at least 24" away from tops now although it's hung at 45 degrees), and added 6500k 80w t-10s into the corners of the room and 2 42w 2700k Cfls above the corners that the Spectra's didn't occupy, my harvests increased, and my plants are now flowering normally. I'm using about 560 watts in a 50" x 60" space and making enough medication for myself.
If you don't like Spectras it's not because you had a shitty light, or that this light could work perfectly as a plug in and play unit, but that it wasn't properly advertised as a "Supplemental Greenhouse light". When I was on the phone with Mike, that phrase was repeated over and over, and now 6 months later it makes much more sense. He was designing the light to be used in botanical gardens and for fruit production (literally micro orange trees and the like) I'm sure that IrishBoy was in fact just a sales rep, or who knows maybe he was getting those results with out supplementation. I never tried to duplicate Irishboy's grow method so I can only comment on this fact. With additional full spectrum light this unit works extremely well. As a stand alone unit it never gave me the results I sought.

Def a combo of light intensity and spectrum. I tried months worth of trials until I decided I had no choice to switch to something that produced better meds and healthier plants.

My experience with Spectras would easily make me recommend a 400 CMH as a better option for someone who is looking for a versatile light with low(er) heat and low power consumption.

Jeez.. I am switching out to MH today for my seedlings.. I have been having problems like crazy.... but the setup is really perfect... I was using a spectra 290 from 2010.. leaves got yellow bleach, lanky... hindered growth...

I remember last flower.... i used 3k of the sepctra in flowering. Everything burned to shit. I though my nutes were messed and what not...and did everything I could... but after this run, I am starting to realize its the LED.

Its a shame really, cause the GLH was advertised to be something solid and the pricing is up there too... there is no way they can recover from this....

But I should have gone with Lumi grow or kessil..

Irishboy was the reason those lights took off. Nothing personal against Irish, he seems like a very cool cat, but in hindsight I do question the authenticity of his so called Spectra grows. He's the only person I've seen that's had that type of success with the lights, everything else appears to be average, below average or simply fried chicken. I did not duplicate his nutrient regiment, but I don't want any lights that require such specific feeding if nutrient depletion was the cause.

Spectra is toast. No way to overcome a mistake like this. Doubtful any fool would be interested in buying it, the name is worthless at this point. It wouldn't make sense for a competitor to buy him out because he's already ruined his own name. Better luck to Mike in the future.

I just viewed the link, what a dreamer LOL. He's trying to recoop his losses by selling his name which has been reduced to a nickel in value. I knew he was a poor business man but this really shows the desperate state of the situation.

I am interested in his LED chips if they are single-core or multiple-core LEDs, i visited their website and saw the pics of their lamp, there were at least three cores in a lamp bead.

I would advise against buying these lights, and that was before I knew he was selling his company. Bad investments all around.

That would explain why he takes weeks to return an email or a phone call.

$250,000 is very pricy, especially for NO inventory. Nobody is that gullible, given that Chinese suppliers can be had for a dime a dozen, and domain names and web sites are 5 bucks a month...
