Yay! Our president has finally come around to Dick Cheney's position on gay marriage. It's a profile in courage.i did not see this coming from an incumbent president on a hot button topic during an election year.

While I break ranks with most of my fellow conservatives on this issue, I think you should quit watching so much of the MSM for your talking points. A vast majority of those that voted against gay marriage were simply expressing their beliefs and felt they were safeguarding traditional marriage. I don't happen to agree with them, but they aren't hostile at all from what I've seen and heard. Opposition to YOUR belief or position does not equal hostility, no matter how many times it's repeated by progressive talking bobble heads on the tv.
And just for clarification, NC is the 32nd state to vote against gay marriage, it's not like we're in the minority here. Apparently, people aren't quite ready for this yet. Give it some time and they'll eventually come around, but don't get some scumbag progressive judge to unwind the will of the people, that's the worst thing that can happen. It just pisses people off and it will take even longer for them to accept it.

same sex marriage is a question of rights.
policy can be debated, put to a vote, changed, and so forth.
rights are to be guaranteed.

No one has a fundamental "right" to be married. And no one has a fundamental "right" to the benefits that the government bequeaths to married couples. As far as I've seen, the ability of individuals to be homosexual hasn't been made illegal, nor the sexual acts that accompany that persuasion. Just because you and a bunch of progressive douchebags repeatedly "CLAIM" that something you want is a fundamental right, doesn't make it so.
As I clearly stated, I disagree with the anti gay marriage crowd, but I sure as fuck support their "right" to define the legal status of marriage on a state by state basis. I know you feel strongly, we've had this discussion before, and you're still completely wrong, you and the scumbag progressive judge in California. You don't get to subvert the will of the people by simply claiming everything you want legalized as a "fundamental right".
