1st PC grow - help

nope just screw the two pieces of wood to the sides then set the glass so the it rest on there. then just fill in any gaps between the glass and the cab itself. you can use silicone or weather stipping. as long as its air tight

no you can use anything that will support the glass......go look at my glass in my cab. the glass your gonna do is gonna COMPLETLY seperate the lights from plants to where mine is just in there to move heat.

you got it man. yeah i would actually use wood on back to, for the door you can either put something like a sponge or thicker weather stripping so that when you close the door the glass seals. hell you could put wood around all four sides??
then set the glass up there. when you closed the door it would rest on the wood. On my cab at the bottom you can see a piece across the bottom to do this very same thing except I separated the grow part from the reservoir part. wher your gonna separate lights grom grow cab. Imagine the piece of wood in mine that that bucket is resting on is your glass....

scrolled thru and seen the glass, is that string holding it up lol? yeah i understand now was a little worried but i think ill put wood on only 3 sides because if i put it on the front it will interfere with me tending to my plants. definitely siiick idea! got alot of preparations to make next week or so. will be making to do list on here and keeping everyone in the loop especially because ive had a FEW good ppl to talk with on here as well on GC.. :))

waiting for a few more msgs and responses between both sites but till further notice..
-------------------------------------------------
tomarrow:

1.
cut bottoms/back pieces outta both drawers

2. attempt/configure solid bottom foundation to cab using scrap pieces from both drawers

Until im more certain with the rest of the setup thats as far as im going, not even gonna mylar yet as thats the least of my worries :wall:

Tasks/Answers needed still
:

1. definite idea or total of pc fans + their setup in the cab
2. setup between fans - fan controllers - a/c filter - maybe thermostat?
3. power supply/source of everything inside the cab

to everyone that has helped so far thankyou! all the messages and responses to my thread are appreciated.. also for bearing with me as i can be quite a hastle and nuisance sometimes with my questions of uncertainty.. i just cant wait to grow!

yeah my temps where bounceing to much so I ran up to depot bought that and some twine. The idea I told you is what im gonna do next grow. dont want to interfere with the current grow. night peace and fire!

UPDATES!!!***

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/195/backcab.jpg/

the back i think is straight forward pretty much.. i didnt realize how big i made the exhaust drawing

the intake of course will be bigger i just didnt wanna draw it huge as well
http://img803.imageshack.us/img803/8471/frontcab.png

u can rotate the pictures as well on image shack..idk why they came out crooked.

so starting from 2nd picture which i feel is the most important

A: 80mm pc fan that is just mounted inside blowing from elft to right across light
not cut into the frame at all with a hole or anything.

B: power strip

C: 200w envirolite with a silver hanger

D: the most complex drawing lol..i had to draw it bigger then what the scale should be to see but over the area is the one a/c filter inside of the translucent filter box.

E: is just the plexi glass that will be mounted on 3 frames of 1/2-1" wood on the left, back and right side and hot glued down

F: is the intake whole which due to room couldnt appear larger then the exhaust in the drawing

G: is the other 120 mm fan that will be below the plexiglass beacuse the first 3 will be above it

** FANS are being ordered this weekend!!

filter, filter box, exhaust, and intake holes will be made as well next week

you want your filter in grow part of the cab not the light. You can just make simple intake and outtake holes for the light compartment. If you seal the plexi glass right there will be no smell transfer from grow cab to light compartment. Other than that man your on the right track.

I hope to have box made by tomarrow. And the diy a/c filters by mon/tue..im hyped man!

update**

well the good news? used a drill to get holes big enough to fit a sawjaw for my buddy to cut the holes as best we could..

bad news? when we tried to cut everything but the face of the drawers it went to shit so now i have no drawers so was wondering if i should either abort? or use panda plastic to salvage this mission? will the airflow still work? we undercut a little on both holes to prevent going over the blue lines.. undercut rather then over..

if not i was thinking.. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Rolling-Two-Drawer-Filing-Cabinet-Wood/7693605

wooden version to start over
lmfaoooo if its still ago next thing to build is the light trap!
