In jar. But first burp was only 65% humidity. WWYD?

So I hung up the hps grow for 4 days. I put it in a paper sack for 2 days. Placed them in jars yesterday. They felt really dry, but as my first cure, I wasn't sure exactly how they should feel. At any rate, that was at 7 pm. I over slept this morning and did not open them until noon. The humidity was at 65%. Now, it took 17 hours to rise up to that level. So I only left the jars open for maybe 15 minutes. I threw in a small green leaf in each jar, because I heard it would help to raise the levels back up. Should I leave them for 12 hours and remove the leaf? Should I maybe leave them longer because of the lower humidity (65%). Adding the leaf may bump it back up to closer to 70 i am hoping. But I guess im asking, if it was yours what would you do to help the cure?

On a side side note, the temperature in the jar was around the 80 mark. I kept them in a drawer to keep light out. I felt that may be to hot so they are simply sitting out in the light now. But the temp in the house should lower the temp in the jar. Is that correct? Or is it ok to leave them in the dark and with the hotter temp? I know there are some xperts here, so I'm kind of wanting to pick your brain some. Thanks fella's and whatever ladies, if any, may come around here.

Its been almost 3 hours, and the temp in the jar is 76 degrees, and the humidity is up to 68%. But, of course that is just from the green leaf i threw in there. I'm not sure if it will soak into the other buds or not.

Are you saying the humidity in the jar was 65% or the humidity or the room?

I jar mine at 65% and burped it down to 55% for the cure and storage. My curing and drying area is at 65F (root cellar) and my humidity is around55% in the room , I hang them till i figure they are dry enough then jar them, never used the paper thing.

65 isn't too high, like already said burp down to 55 or so and they'll be fine.

I took the lid off after 4 hours, the humidity was up to like 68%. But after maybe 30 minutes with the lid off its down to 56% already. Which makes me think its way to dry.

It may feel dry on the outside, but if when you put the lid on and the humidity goes up it isn't dry enough yet for curing, until you get it to hover around 55% without burbing .. then you can cure and store it.


But then again it's just the way I do it.

Since you ask, it it were me, I'd follow the Perfect Cure tutotial stickied at the top of the page. The instructions are pretty simple and totally foolproof. There no mention there of burping for the hell of it at 65%, nor is there a direction to add moisture at that point. Please read the text. Good luck.Edit: If you're not using a Caliber III hygrometer or a calibrated Hydroset/Xikar all bets are off.

well put hydroset 3 is what i got ( SimonD reconmended this to me) now awsome! i am in control of my dry cure time, the post hes talking about i GOLD
