ya I totally agree with you about the ocean forest. Quality isnt the same as a couple years ago, but its still pretty good. I found a huge stick in my bag the other day about 8 inches long and inch thick. i was like WTF.
Dude tell me about it, exactly what happened to me today, usually the sticks arent that big and are mushy, the one i found today was just a fat long twig, hard as a rock lol

what size posts did you use? How much would you say the frame alone cost you to do? I plan on staying in my house a long time, so rethinking it to maybe make it stronger...I just used .75 x 1 x 8"s for the most part, and then just some 2' x 4' x 16" for the 2 lower bottom sides. definately wish it looked more permanent and solid like yours.

The main posts are 4x4's connected to the cement piers. Everything else is 2x4's. Mine was pretty costly, probably around $1500-2000 just for the frame and all bracketing, nails etc the brackets add up even though they are cheap individually you need a lot of them. Also the whole frame was planned and had designs drawn up before hand, lots of measuring and leveling, and marking and cutting and drilling, it was a big project(for me anyway). It's all about personal preference and how far your willing to take it. I wanted something that would be really permanent and look nice too not to piss any neighbors off. Ill try and snap some pics soon of the 2x4's meeting with the 4x4's and just in general how mine was put together with all the bracketing.

Rock on brother..

Perhaps on day my state will realize the benefits of taxation, regulation and decriminalization.
Until then Ive got to try and stay under the radar.

But one day I WILL have the monstrous plants that I dream of..
Whoo knows? Maybe by the time we can have dispensaries, I can be on track to help others. Even if just as caretaker, ya know?
Its a goal, that much is true.

Ya I feel for you man, I could never describe in words how insane the drug war is. It would be hard for me to live in a non-med state because I really love doing a garden every year. It just makes me respect all those people eve more that continue to plant even with high risk. Dont worry brother the status quo could never stay like this, at least I feel like for not much longer.

Yea i can see how leveling it would get to be pricey. It shows though in the finished product, it looks like something that came with the house lol. One day I hope i can do that, but in the mean time i will have to just have my poormans screen house and drool over yours!

I got some new strains today to, kiwi and bubba kush. supposed to do good outdoor and get big, so lets hope we both have some trees!

Nice job bro, I see your a fan of Mrcouchlok. I was too
I build a greenhouse out of a carport & cover it with mesh, very similar. I cover the top with clear plastic to shed rain & let sun in.
I like the carports because they aren't perminant. I can break it down in 1hr and you never know it was there.

On the suplemental lighting, if you have the lights come on only early morning, neighbors are less likey to notice.
Good luck

Ive heard good things about bubba and bubba crosses outdoors, im gonna plant some bubba76 fems from emerald triangle seeds later in the season just as some minis and see how they turn out. On the screenhouse, you could always start over, or just keep improving on it. To be honest you probably would have been better off doing a big hoophouse and attach netting/plastic to that, pvc hoophouses are easy to make and provide a perfect shape to protect against the elements.
Either way id just have fun with it man, dont stress over it, cuz IMHO the harvest is always worth it :weed:

Hi JJ, hope im not kissing ass too much but I am very familiar with you and your awesome DoubleJJ style carport grows kiss-ass
Even the past few years when I wasn't posting at all I was steadily following your threads. Im a big fan to say the least and learned much from you man and I appreciate it. Yeah Couchlok was the man I wish he would join us on the forums or youtube again. I heard you were not gonna be documenting the carport this year? if true im sure you have your reasons, I know I had my reasons to stop documenting a few years ago, but I feel safer now. Anyways much luck this year on your grow whether its on RIU or not! much respect thanks for stoppin by :peace:

This is legit.. This is like what I want to wrap mine in next year.
Thanks for checkin it out bgood! heres an update on the current, not much going on, watered them all for the first time in a while like 2-3 weeks, no lie lol I was amazed how long they went in their 5 gallons without watering except for day of transplant and even today they werent even that droopy haha. Oh and also I watered with activonate(organic fungicide) just as a preventative, want these girls as happy and healthy as possible. I have confirmed a decent amount of females and have a lot of suspected males, ill keep em around until im absolutely sure and see nothing but bananas and balls lol Then ill save like 2 of the best males for some hobby breeding. First pic are the confirmed fems, second is all the suspected males and three big ass holes with my soil mix. :joint:
