guys just wanted to share a lil something that happened to me last night...


i was sitting outside with my bro inlaw n he was watering his veggie plants when all of a sudden two choppers fly over and circle the area a few times before flying off. they had all they're lights off and you could only see one red light on each chopper on the side. i know my neighbor has quite a few plants but it was just crazy that they would do that haha. i know around this time every year they got choppers searching for crops. anyone know how exactly they search for em cuz i know they can't use flir cuz plants don't release heat do they? i know my cab grow don't release the heat that would be that noticeable...

on a serious note, trained guys can spot a pot crop with the naked eye just by the color of the foliage and growth patterns. i don't know about smaller crops, but to a trained eye pot plants stick out among other plants. you did say night, though. maybe they were just scanning or trying to make their presence known.

No they use their eyes to find crops which are outdoors. In Guerilla they're often looking for signs such as trails, checking near water supplies (creeks), rubbish / growing gear left behind, and of course plants.

wow foreal? i didn't know that. thats some interesting info. as for the flir i learned of what it could do and how its invasion of property but cops still use it. haha i watched it on BARRY COOPERS NEVER GET BUSTED AGAIN. very cool dvd's learned a lot! i know my little cab is impossible to see haha this island is so hot anyway day n night! it's just crazy that the choppers really fly around here and they were freakin low! i could probably throw a rock at them lol.

i dont think they have a certain temp color they let off. plants are normally the same temp as their surrounding. and green is a destinct green as said by some people. its more of a lime green. and durring flowering it is probably even easier to tell. i doubt they use plant heat as a detection method. infared is used for indoor grows

They look with a thermal camera, roofs into wich lights are being exhausted into are warmer then neighbouring roofs. Same thing for windows, they might also in the daytime check for condensation.

The choppers and jets flew over all the time last year no big deal here! .....I talked to my Air force buddy and he told me that they have software on there plane that pick up signs of grows such as hoses and reservoirs.

The canna-choppers flew my grow twice after I applied for and got a license to own and operate a dispensary. Due to tenant/landlord issues, we never opened, but the narcotics team had all my info about everything I own and lease, and they came for a look twice, a hard look. Too bad I was shut down at that time, fuckheads. I'm legal too, real legal. Too bad they didn't come for a visit, it would have been interesting....they would have had to leave with nothing, except for an apology for being wrong .

My god that was a dangerously CLOSE ruling. Imagine how much different our lives would be if it was a 4-5 decision, in favor of FLIR not requiring a search warrant!! Thank god for that ONE supreme court justice.



On another note:

If they are hovering, just shine that in their camera .. It will blind their IR cameras, and likely piss them off a lot.

Warning: check your local laws before shining laser pointers, even infared laser pointers, at helicopters in flight. Someone should find out if there are restrictions on IR laser pointers like there are with visible light laser pointers. I don't see how IR lasers could be dangerous, unless the pilot is flying with NVG, which I've never ever heard of commercial pilots ever even having..
