I have a problem...

Here is my situation...I have a female plant with one 26 watt CFL on it and its in great shape :). Its been in floweing since March 26. It has not formed buds but it has freakishly long hairs. And im certain that its female. The problem is that my timer only has 1 outlet and its a two prong. (that means a plug with 3 little prongs like a extension cord or outlet extension is not compatible to plug in). So I was wondering if I could add extra lights when its in 12 hours light and then just turn them off before she goes to bed without stressing her? Thanks in advance.

The third prong is just a ground, and is used in current households only. You can tear off the third prong from a surge protector or something, and use that to then add other lights. Really, any appliance that you want to plug into your house, you can just tear off that third prong. While it does make it safer to have it grounded, if your house does not allow for it, no damage will be done from this.

Go to the store (walmart or any like store), pick up a power strip like you would use for your computer. If you don't want to damage the ground prong you can pick up adapters that will plug onto the end and will have only 2 prongs for your timer. That way you can run mulitiple lights from the same pwere strip that is attached to the timer.

Yes, I used these adapters in my house which was built in the 50's and had no grounds. They cost like 1.50.

Then get yourself a power strip for more places to plug sockets in to. Also pick up some socket Y adapters ($2) from Lowes or Home Depot to turn each light socket in to 2.

I picked up a nice FUSED (wont start fires if water shorts it) TIMED (1 row of 4 plugs is on a timer and the other row of 4 are always on, real nifty); for $13

Funny you say that because thats my mission is to get some y spliters. Also, I just ripped that 3rd prong of the power strip and it worked :).
