likes let you know you are having a conversation. rep doesnt work like that. this is way i described it on another thread,

"the like button, the lesser form of plus rep, an awesome tool to back up the normal rep button", for things that aren't quite rep worthy or if you need to get someones attention on a thread for conversation or feedback it great! every body in this thread is gonna get a like from me!

Thanks!~ I also been a wondering what is rep worthy? I am anti social and have difficulty finding 30 different people I agree with before I can give what I deem worthy rep again.... so how +rep is +rep?

There isnt. Its apples and oranges.......... Likes make the post look popular or important, rep is good for folks who actually help, all the same! In the absolute end, there is zero help to likes or rep its all just fanfare.

reputation is supposed to be given when someone posts good advice, the more rep you get the bigger the green bar under your name is. them people can see the rep and say "he might know what he is talking about"

like just shoots a notification to the poster that says "xyz likes your post"
