Hello. I found the use of the word "owe" in your post interesting.Yes, but those individuals better know exactly what might happen when the tax man catches up with them.
The government will do whatever they can/want when they come to the conclusion that you owe them something.
The term "owe" implies a mutual and non coerced agreement. As in you borrowed $5 from me and agreed to pay me, now you owe it to me.
In a rational world you would only "owe" that which you have agreed to or when there is a exchange of services absent any coercion. Services imposed at the point of a gun, like "government services" are not really services, they are impositions... Taxes rely upon force and the threat of violence. The method of collection used by the IRS and Mobsters is similar as is their business models.
You are right the government will do what ever it can to collect, they rely upon threats and violence. I try to avoid doing business with thugs.
