while some chlorine is accepltable an often required by the plants in small amounts...constant birages with it will kill the plants an weakin them to other ailments ...i cant say for sure how the water is where alb. but he aint in the us an i know my water here sucks...so if someone was to use tap constantly they would need to bubble it to reduce some amounts of chlorine floride an other shitty things the US does to the water...like i said from my experence with the lucas formula an others who used it befor me with gh nutes its 5mlmicro an 10milbloom for veg with 8milmicro an 16milbloom for flower...all with the micro nutes mixed first...peace az
Az, chlorinated tapwater won't hurt your plants.

No, I'm not in the US now, but I lived in the mudwest US for >30 years before I split for Aus.

I've never used anything BUT chlorinated tapwater in 20 years of growing, half of those in the USA.

This nonsense about chlorine killing plants is just that- nonsense.

These plants are arguably NOT dead and get nothing but chlorinated water out of the garden hose. So does my now 12 ft tall cherry tomato plant in my fully organic veggie patch out the back..

These are in my tray#1, for plants in wk1-2. Pictured plants have been flowering for 2 weeks. As you see, they gain vertical height really quite quickly even though they are under 12/12 and are eating high P flowering nutes. Plants take about 4 weeks to completely stop gaining vertical height and start packing on the budmass.

Here's tray 2:

This tray houses plants in wks 2-4. Pictured plants are in wk4.

Tray 3:

Tray 3 is for plants in wks 4-6. Pictured plants are in wk6.

Tray 4:

On the GH & Lucas stuff- seems WAY too complex to me. I've used 2-part nutes, Canna for the last 8 years, with fine results. The mix? 400ml each part A & B in 125L water, from day 1 of flowering until harvest. Yields 1400ppm, Canna nutes have pH buffers which set my pH 6.5 tapwater to 5.7-5.8. No need to even pH correct.

no prob. I just really hate myths that get repeated over & over that have no substance. Makes ppl spend money and do work that they just don't need to do. This dope growing thang is complicated enough without making it any more so. Simpler is gooder. ;)

Aus never had the great 'red scare' to the degree the US did. Ppl here know the difference between communism & socialism and authoritarianism & fascism. Marx had a lot better ideas than Stalin & Mao, for sure, whether any of that mob's ideas at all were any good or not. ;) Viva participatory socialist democracy! Viva national healthcare! Viva the social safety net! :D

if the water was only chlorinated that would be fine al b....but in some aeras around the us..water/water wells have been contimnated with countless other things....so yes i will stand firm that its easy to start a grow using r/o water vs tap....i have spoke with countless growers who had seen plenty of problems befor swtiching to r/o the only difference being using r/o vs tap..i myself am one of these people i seen lots of prob's with my plants befor switching...also some water lines are run threw water softeners an this initself creats loads of problems as they take out certain elements an increase others...so like i said using r/o in the us is typiccly a wiser choice...peace az
edit heres one thing im talking about...this is just the tip i can put up more if you still think all water is the same..

Az, you're fooling yourself. Chlorinated tapwater is no problem in grow ops.

Fooling yourself is OK- try not to fool anyone else.

*sigh*

Tell me, exactly what should folks be looking for when all these statistically insignificant toxins wheedle their insidious way into your plants?

Does fluoride give them zebra stripes?

Chlorine make 'em radioactive?

If you're going to fear such a dire threat from your water that you gotta take extraordinary measures to clean it, you will at least be able to tell us what to look for- won't you?

Shall I get my Geiger counter out of my bomb shelter, or will my tinfoil hat protect me?

all i can say is this...in the US now when you have a lil babie you know your own lil kid...docters tell new parents not to give there babies tap water unless its boiled first...if all water was the same why cant we give it to babies right from tap...peace az

I think this widely depends on where in the US you are living and if your on city or well water... I honestly don't see why theres such an issue, regardless of whats in my water, i use a Britta filter, and let it bubble till needed (I PH 5 gallons of water at a time). I have never heard of a doctor tell someone to not give their babies tap water... but i never had a baby either...

water quality does vary from city to city even from parts of cites compared to others...an at least here in the southwest docters do say not to give our tap to new born under 6months...an i didn't mean to start a debate on tap vs r/o..i was simply stating that with the gh 3part nutes an lucas formula it calls for r/o....an i recomend this as its a starting base at nearly 0 ppms....peace az

AZ is right on about the water in the SW USA its hoorrible, all my plants were dying before I switched to r/o, some parts of the country are better, I am originally from the midwest, and the difference in the tap water is amazing, back home only the snobs bought bottled water to drink, in the Southwest only the un informed dont........
