Light dims exponentially with distance. A leaf 2" from the light receives 1/4 the light a leaf 1" from the light, disregarding shading. The bottom leaves get so little light, they produce very little usable bud., but still suck up the same amount of resources as the top leaves do. Eliminating them redirects the resources to the upper buds, where they are better utilized producing smoke-able bud. Any trimming should be done at least a week before switching to flower, so the plant can recover from the stress before going into flower, or bud production will be reduced. In outdoor grows, I wouldn't do any kind of pruning. The sun is 93 million miles away, a few extra feet has almost no reduction at all, not enough to even measure.LOL, thanks. So, I keep reading different information about trimming your plants, i.e., removing the lower leaves etc.. I get that would be good if you had a crowded space or SOG or what not, to create aeriation below the canopy, any other point to removing the lower leaves?? Does it redirect nutrients or something? Or is that a myth.
Ok. That seems like very sound reasoning. I have a bunch of tiny little leaves at the bottom of the plants and they seem kind of useless. LOL. Your explanation makes more sense. Got any recent pictures of your grow? Do NOT use your cell phone to take pictures, you can be identified using exo date contained in the picture file. By the way, posting a picture of yourself in this forum is not a good idea. Even if your grow is legal where you live, it's still illegal under Federal law. No point in advertising what you're doing. Rippers could be a problem, too. You've already stated you live alone. Not good.LOL, thanks. So, I keep reading different information about trimming your plants, i.e., removing the lower leaves etc.. I thought about trimming the lower leaves, since I do that with my flower beds, basically to try and make bigger blooms. I read someone say on here that "If you think trimming the lower leaves will help produce bigger buds, you are tripping." So I thought maybe what I've been doing with my flowers might have all been pointless. I am going to put these guys in flower in a few weeks, so I may as well do it now.
Omg ppl actually read the About Me Section. I didn't think anyone would and I keep getting questions, lol.Glad to see you changed your avatar. Whales Vagina?????
