Grow tents

Hi all, Beginner here.

When using a grow tent do you have to suspend the pots of the surface to let water fall down into something below ? or do you just lay them on the base of the tent ? Been looking up tons of tuts, can't seem to find anything though.

Thanks

damn dude. some people would much rather learn by asking on the forum. no need to try and clown them. just cause they post what you think is a stupid question doesn't mean you have to answer it. chill bro. it;s a forum. everyone learns in different ways and everyone if free to ask whatever they want here.

I actually agree with the sweet little baba, but he just has a foul attitude about him. I only ask a Q if I can't find it after looking for ages. Like now. I've even read the whole lot of the grow bible. Searched google etc.

So you put a tray under the pots. But how would you lift it up to empty it. If I'm growing a scrog I cant lift the pots up to take away the tray.

Cheers Scooby and Yeps

If I was too suspend the pots with a screen, tray underneath it. So the excess water would flow through screen and down onto the tray. Would that be a feasible option. Or something people do ?

usually the saucers have ridges in them to collect water so that the bottom of the pot is not sitting in water ever. just let the water sit in there. it will eventually evaporate. if you need to dump it then you are watering too much. can't be that hard to lift a pot 1-2" so you can pull out the tray. even in a scrog.

Thats true. . . All the saucers in my house are flat based though. Do you know of any threads or books where this subject is mentioned. Or is it supposed to be common knowledge. I'm typical for understanding the hard parts but the easy parts is where I go wrong lol.

it's common knowledge. you want a plant saucer. not just a regular saucer from the house. pick some up from home depot. they are like $0.50

depending on how much room you have another idea is to get a flood table and put all the pots in there. then just tilt the table slightly to one side and add a drain fitting. everytime you water just leave a bucket under the drain fitting. i did this for a long time. less cleanup. requires more room and expense though.

I shall be using a large 1m x 1m gardening tray inside my tent. The water will just sit inside the tray to catch any excess water (using auto watering system in coco). If it does get too much, use a jumbo car sponge and bucket =)

A wet/dry shop vac is an indoor gardeners best friend. I feed drain to waste, the saucers fill up about an inch, I vacuum it out and toss it.
