again where in the USA can someone get a drink under 21... Every State now makes it 21 not 18...so once again you do know the law for alcohol in the USA is 21 not 18... name me one state in the 50 of the United States of America this is not true.???
With a heavy sigh i shall deliver this again. If you can stand my longwinded replies... (psssst its a quote!)

"The National Minimum Drinking Age Act of 1984 withholds revenue from states that allow the purchase of alcohol by anyone under the age of 21. Prior to the effective date of that Act, the drinking age varied from state to state. Some states do not allow those under the legal drinking age to be present in liquor stores or in bars (usually, the difference between a bar and a restaurant is that food is served only in the latter). Contrary to popular belief, since the act went into law, only a few states prohibit minors and young adults from consuming alcohol in private settings. As of January 1, 2010, 15 states and the District of Columbia ban underage consumption outright, 17 states do not ban underage consumption, and the remaining 18 states have family member and/or location exceptions to their underage consumption laws. Federal law explicitly provides for religious, medical, employment and private club possession exceptions; as of 2005, 31 states have family member and/or location exceptions to their underage possession laws. However, non-alcoholic beer in many (but not all) states, such as Idaho, Texas, and Maryland, is considered legal for minors (those under the age of 21).[SUP][16][/SUP]
By a judge's ruling, South Carolina appears to allow the possession and consumption of alcohol by those 18 to 20 years of age, but a circuit court judge said otherwise.[SUP][17][/SUP]
The State of Wisconsin allows the consumption of alcohol in the presence of parents. Some U.S. States have legislation that make providing to and possession of alcohol by minors (persons under 21) a gross misdemeanor with a potential of $5,000 and a year in jail (or more)" source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legal_drinking_age

Hey I just learned that Federal law explicitly provides for religious, medical, employment and private club possession exceptions for underage drinking. I guess Federal law does trump state law

Mexico has a drinking age? Didn't Neutron used to live in the States? Maybe it's been that long since he's been allowed back in he thinks it's still 18?

you guys know if obama tried to legalize it, that bill still wouldnt pass. your living in a fairy tale if you think marijuana isnt legal because obama didnt support it when talking to penn. its all about appeal, all presidents/politicians know that, yes no shit he smoked weed and did a "little bit of blow", but you guys voted in george bush, but hey once its a black guy doing it its fuckin huge, im no racist but that comes off a little bit racist to me, when you dont accuse a white president of not supporting marijuana, but once obama tries to steer away from the touchy subject, hes a bad guy. im sure most presidents would jump to saying "marijuana kills" or something ridiculously false, im pretty sure about 80% of america isnt ready for a president to support it.
if a wide variety of his voters were pot heads, yeah, im sure he would have been more open about it, remember this was strictly politics, not the jimmy fallon show.
dont say im defending obama, this is simply an observation, im neither a lefty or a righty so you can stop the name calling, both parties are fucked up and you know it.

Nope. the federal law in question didnt even pretend to ban drinking by those under 21. It simply withholds federal funds (highway maintenance money, school funding etc..) from any state that dares question the fed's stance. The law makes exceptions from the withholding for states that choose to allow Catholics to take communion and such. you see, back in long ago 1984 the feds didnt think they had the right to force states to do shit by fiat, so the used the threats to funding as an extortion tool to squeeze states untill they agreed to a 55mph speed limit, 21 year minimum drinking age and several other "social goods" that turned out to be crap. most states have abolished the arbitrary 55 mph speed limit, and several are considering the 21 year drinking age as well. They also tried and failed to mandate motorcycle helmets using the same tactics. many states still do not require the wearing of helmets.

Really bro. lets not be childish about it.

lol why i included "stop the name calling". imo all politicians arent good, we can all agree with that, its just who is less corrupt than the others. im gonna have to roll with obama, i know everyones probably like "but ron paul...", yeah well ron paul probably isnt going to be elected is he? hes way too old, his ideas are far from the norm, and legalizing MJ and all drugs probably lost him a few votes and delegates. legalization isnt in the hands of one person, basically our whole fuckin government has to agree to it. everyone can bitch and moan because obama didnt seem supportive about mj, but we have to remember it really only matters to a small majority of people. hes reaching out to the people who dont support legalization, but at least he cut the DEAs spending on dispensary busts(omg obama is the fuckin devil right? omg hes so horrible).
like i said a post earlier, its gonna take small steps towards legalization, we're not gonna wake up one day and force the government to make it legal, mmj is a great start and choosing any other president than ron paul or obama means that the process of legalization will go backwards rather than forward, just remember that romney voters.

another pithy Uncle Buck gem. I dont wanna be long winded but....

Helmets dont do shit for you in a crash even if you land on your head. and even if they did, the Dept of Transportation hasnt actually tested a helmet since 1970. the sticker just means the proposed design is acceptable if the manufacturer actually adheres to said design. but again, no tests since 1970, so you could design it to pass and build it with crepe paper and cobwebs, yet still get a fuckin sticker.

Smug proclamations from ignorant internet pundits with duck pictures are pretty useless as a safety device too. lets mandate them for every driver! $500 fine for anyone driving without a printout of their favorite Uncle Buck post! Think of the Children!!!

I grok what youre sayin, and Ron Paul is my choice in a perfect world, too bad he is out. i got a personal rule about not voting for any dickbag that lies to me, thats how i wound up voting for clinton, to my eternal regret. Romney hasn t lied to me yet. and mormons may be uptight and prudish, but they are generally honest, and usually not all up in their neighbor's shit. Obama is a liar, and a dickbag, and he's all up in my shit, plus his boy smuggled guns into mexico for fun. By his Homeys you shall know him, thats what the bible says i think, and Barack's Homeys are pretty damned soft. Right now if the dessicated corpse of Gerald Ford was running he might even be able to sway my vote.

Thats a good rule homey. but if its a choice between Harry Potter's Hogwarts Panties or Barry Seotoro, i gotta say the Eldritch Underoos are a lot less scary then 4 more years of bullshit and pedantic lectures from The One.

Why don't you guys vote your conscience instead of furthering the idea of choosing between 2 predetermined candidates? Vote third party if both the candidates are dbags. bongsmilie

I fully intend to write in Ron Paul, but if it's down to the wire, i dont want to be that one asshole who puts BHO over the top, so unless it's super tight come california election time, im voting Ron Paul.

your vote will be de facto for obama, as that is the way your state's electoral votes will go.

LOL!

Yep, classic liberal leftist, electoral college bad when it goes against you, great when it goes your way. Personally i dont give fuck who wins, Obama and Romney both are shit, and Ron Paul already dropped out before the california primary. Thats life in Cali. Our votes never really count, its always decided long before the polls close out west. Hell why even have elections, once the party bosses choose John Jackson and Jack Johnson they can flip a coin on who gets to be cheif dingbat for the next four years!

lol @ your old mcronald love. just LOL.

next time i head down to LA on the I-5, i'm going to enjoy another hearty gut laugh at the "congress created dust bowl" signs proudly yet moronically displayed by all the farmers on the west side of the san joaquin.

i never see a sign thanking the fed gov for the fact that their land exists thanks to big government projects like the california aqueduct, nor do i see any signs detailing that they knew they would be last in line for the water when they signed up. and i never see any signs that advertise the fact that the mega-corps who own the vast majority of these farms sell their water back to local municipalities rather than use it to water their land. they want to have their cake and eat it too, all while bitching about/exploiting illegal immigrants.

the hypocrisy of red california is astounding. simply jaw-dropping.
