In chicago..Been smoking. Casually. I come to terms with it. We've come to terms with it.

So..it's a bitch on my wallet./

So since like...January...been collecting the seeds from some killer bud. Got about 120 ..probably less...

So what now? I read somehwere to..Drop the seed in a cop of water..cover it..keep it warm and within 2 days the seed should sink...I did that and it did sink...Plus some life started coming out of it... the seed split open.

So i got some soill...Bought nutri grow stuff..and some soil that my mothers been using so i know it's capable of maintaining plantlife..and mixed it together...

So i drop the seed and water in a small pot.

I intend to take them OUTside when it gets ever hotter.

For the meanwhile..

whaT?

water it? let it dry?...give it plant food?

temperture here in Chicago are reaching in the 80's.

plus..going to the store this weekend?

anything else i should buy?

well first you need to give it light..you said you were taking it outside later so what will you be using for light until then? and for soil i would buy some foxfarms OF instead of using your moms soil. foxfarms works good and so does promix. once they some up just put them out side and for watering when they are small they dont use as much water as when they get big so dont drown them.they like good amount but not to much..when they are bigger they will get droopy when they are thirsty.while your at the store get a moisture meter it will help you.also for nutes i would use foxfarms beastie bloom or any other foxfarms for flower and vegetative growth. If you cant get it thats fine but whatever kind you use make sure it has a higher nitrogen than phosperus levelduring vegetative and during flower make the phospherus high and then cut the nitrogen down abit
so its lower than the phospherus.

The watering thing was going to worry me..nice break down of how much they need and when... Like children. thanks. The moisture meter? so what do you keep it at? i'm taking this one outside.. and start fresh when i really use these seeds.

home depot carries it i think if not they have stuff that will suffice. promix also works good. the better quality the better your plants will be. as for moisture meter its like a guage but its not really important if unless you think you will have problems with watering on time. the pots weight will be light when its dry and heavy when its wet so that is another way of telling when they are getting dry. but i would just go to home depot and just scope that shit out i know outsid ein the garden center they carry alot of different soils and also know they have tons of nutrients. they also have starter pots so that way you could start like 10-15 seedlings and then when they get like 3-4 inches you can tell which ones are looking good healthy and strong and then use them.

hey thanks..after readying your info WWW and oke..I like to think i would have had some success if i went at it alone.. seemed to be on the right direction anyway..going to wait it out a few more weeks for climate and more prep... fix up the soil for now..got plenty of hints now, thanks fo this site.

Yo, freedom fighter, it just so happens im in your area, let me give you some advice. First of all, don't overwater them in the beginning, it's really easy, but its really bad for them. Wait until the top layer of dirt dries before you water. You're gonna want to get them started as early as you can, but don't leave them outside 24/7 until probably early may, because we could still get some cold temps up here. Good luck.

^^ shit...its cloudy and windy today.. Definetly..Early may is when i execute. It should be good by then... then 27/7 outside. I was really hoping to make this an outdoor only thing.. got all the things i need except a ph meter..
I started one but the light i'm able to give it is probably weak..doubt it'll sprout this way. A moisture meter is going to help me avoid becoming one of those "over water" guys.

But besides the water...you worry much about PH?

and once they sprout..and you see an inch of green surface...and you get so excited you wet yourself... got any tips? I hear and read..from strangers and fellow comrades that this is the stage where success and failure reveal themselves. What's key? since i'm still in the prepping the soil with what i want..making plans and scouting local sites.. i'm truely at stage zero.

making multiple attacks on nearby locations.. all within a mile of each. All the sites marked for an ambush have plant life growing all over... I figure the soil is super sweet...

Ya'll think i'm ruining a good thinking by adding some potting soil i bought from the store?

Having issues of where to park my ride. I can walk to ground zero every now and then..but when it requires i carry shit (water, shovel, ..i guess that' all)...I mean WTF..can anything else look more supicious? some bad dude walking half stones, probably, to the patchy wilderness with tools and sunglasse?S

Can you carry your gear into the bush after dark? That's what I do sometimes when I'm growing in an area where people might see me come in and out. Carry the gear a litte ways into the woods at night, come back the next day and carry it the rest of the way to the grow site.

What's key, you say? Moderation. Moderation is key, especially for new growers. Resist the temptation to overwater, overfertilize, overanything. Remember - it's a weed. It doesn't need much help, and frankly doesn't really welcome it. Like most plants, marijuana can recover far more easily from a lack of water, or a lack of fertilizer, than too much of either. Especially when the plant is young. So when in doubt, back off - always err on the side of doing too little for your plant rather than too much.

As you become a more experienced grower, you'll learn to recognize subtle signs that the plant needs a bit more nitrogen, or a bit more water, or whatever, and you'll probably be surprised to learn what relatively small quantities of nutrients and water your plants really need. So don't shoot for 12-foot redwoods on your first grow, because the end result will probably be that you wind up with nothing at all. Settle for healthy 5-footers with nice, tight buds, 4 ounces per plant, and a whole summer's worth of little lessons on how to grow dope. Lessons that will make it possible for you to grow those 12-footers next season, and every season after.

Man.. I'm totally neglecting this one plant and only plant....my first plant...ever...and the thing is growing..I see already what appears to be a tiny leaf. Its been about 6 days and the thing keeps moving. isn't getting the light nor the water it should probably get.

only problem is...i stuck it in a small ceramic pot...How can i transplant this plant if it continues to grow... or should i just leave it there and let it be....being my very first attempt? I can probably keep this one around the house..taking it in and out every morning n night. can it even sprout bud in that small container (about a 1 liter pot).
