how do you know if plants are male or female?

i have like 6 good sized plants and i dont know if they are male or female.

i dont even know what kind of seeds they were.

i got all of the seeds from 2 random sacks that i bought.

one of them someone was calling "popcorn" and one was being called "lime green".

you need to put you plants on a 12 on 12 off lighting schedule, your plants need TOTAL darkness during the off stage. it'll take anywhere from a week to two weeks on the 12/12 lighting schedule to determin the plants sex. kill the males, keep the female plants on 12/12 for about 6 or more weeks and you'll be ready to harvest.

amsterdam my friend, you should try using google, look up, "ice hash" and look in images "male marijuana" it will probably show a picture.

HA plz tell me "the king of amsterdam" is banned. I was getting pissed at the name. Normally i'm not anal about anything but "the king of amsterdam?" That's a bit much for a total noob.

Agreed if your the "king of asterdam" at least bring a little, what i like to call "google knowledge" to the table. menaing at least b4 anyone posts they should try the "search" function of this website. its got a ton of knowledge here, almost more so than a book you can buy, a book if usually written by one grower, where as this place has 1000 growers, therefore more experience to draw from. call me picky, call me an ass, but man o man atleast try the search b4 posting, espicially one of the easiest things to find out.....male or femal marujuana... hang on ill type it in google and see how many hits i get.....

I totally understand that people get sick of answering the same questions over and over and over again. But the people who are answering this person should have read the title of this thread. Plus some people are hesitant to go killing there plants before they are exact on the sex of it, so they will ask people to give them first hand experience. The reason i say this, is because i asked a "stupid question" once and i got flamed for it and then - rep. I guess im just a little confused on the purpose of this forum if the "newbs" should be going to google to get there answers. Im not trying to start any trouble =D, just giving my two cents =D.

NOPE, hash is made from the thricromes, so the buds got tons of them on them, so you CAN use them, but why? why not smoke the buds and make hash with the leaves and trimmings :)

so after the plant or plants being in flowering and have there sex determined ... do u then cut off nodes and put them in veg for cloning .... and the main ones flower ?
