They made you sign the paper because after going round and round with the Asst. DA or whatever they could not charge you and have it hold up in court. The paper you signed will most likely make it so that you can not seek any civil action against the department. You should have called or demanded they provide you with a public defender / lawyer. If you would not have signed your rights away maybe you could have sued the department for wrongful imprisonment or something. That's the only reason I can think they would keep you for a few days and then make you sign a paper saying that you were only detained! Detained for a few days and not allowed to go about your business to me is equal to being arrested! Sounds like a real shitty situation your room dog got you into.

Get the fuck out of the state. You haven't been charged, you aren't on bail, you can skip town legally. Do it. They're going to bring charges. There is no way they're going to let you off the hook for that. Dump all your stuff, have a friend sell it off, buy a bus ticket to the farthest away state you can find with a decent mmj program and GO. They're counting on you naively believing that not getting arrested on the spot means you're good to go. You're NOT. Don't fall for it. They're preparing a case against you. GTFO of town! They rarely extradite over long distances due to the costs involved, so run before it becomes a crime to do so! (And before you have to post bond.)

EDIT: Don't try to sell or move your stuff yourself. It's likely you're under surveillance and that's why you haven't been charged (they want to figure out who your friends are by tricking you into letting down your guard). Just put on your shoes and walk out with nothing but your wallet and leave your keys in the door for your friend. Pull $300 from an ATM and buy the bus ticket cash. You can (or could, it's been years) give a bogus name to Greyhound, best to simply misspell it so you can pass it off as a mistake if they catch it. You don't want to leave any easy paper trails for them to find our where you are, the whole idea is to make it very expensive (IE, lots of time and effort, not worth bothering) to get you. Don't discuss your plans on the phone either, txts are saved forever and can be subpoenaed and your calls will surely be monitored.

If he's in a position where that is feasible, then he could just as easily increase his anonymity within the city by moving to a place where there are no utilities etc in his name.. My guess is that he doesn't hold a legit job where his SIN could burn him, so beyond that the biggest threat would be a traffic stop..

if they did not have a search warrant for your plants its illegal to prosecute you for them. im no attorney, but i know anything thats not included in a search warrant found in a raid will be omitted in court if you are charged.now if you were the guy they were looking for, they got ya by the short and curlies! i think the other guy said it pretty well...if they didnt arrest you on the spot, its a pretty good sign.
