yea. toss them bitches right into jars after about 12hrs in a paper bad if they are super airy and tiny. burp the jars every 48hrs.Hey guys, how long does it take for your little popcorn buds to dry, seems like mine are already getting a little crunchy..is that possable after 24 hours? Room temp 68, rh 45%
Hey guys, just wanted to thank you for your advise on drying. I ended up getting a humidifier and it worked great. I dried for 5 days then into jars last night. Smells like hey but i'm sure that's going away after a good cure. Here is a pic of my Jars. Id say about 4 ounces of the little popcorn nuggets were way to dry to cure so i'm using that to make cana oil for brownies and whatnot. Thanks again!View attachment 2222063
I do the same the thing except I was able to find some cheap ass china made hygrometers from Wal Mart a few years back I bought like 10 of them. The method I use that helps with a good cure are the digital hygrometers from cigar shops. I learned the method somewhere on this site I will try to find a link. They are usually around $20-$25 a piece but if you are unsure when to burp the jars it works great.

every strain is different so it is hard to say. usually within a couple days of being in jars the smells start to come back. it is a good idea to also mix up the buds on a daily basis when you first put them in the jars. prevents the air from getting trapped in the bottom. I use a chop stick as a mixing tool, one of these days I will need to scrape the hash of that thing.Did it, I filled them half way...rh in the jar is at 65%. How long will it smell like hey? Only been curing 1 day?
I just fill the jars up half way then shake them around a little.. PlantMagic is right though you dont want to fill the jars tight you want that stuff to spread out onto all the other buds.every strain is different so it is hard to say. usually within a couple days of being in jars the smells start to come back. it is a good idea to also mix up the buds on a daily basis when you first put them in the jars. prevents the air from getting trapped in the bottom. Once it gets under 58% I believe it is too dry to cure.So my hygrometer in jar says 63% rh. When do I stop burping? At what rh do I stop? If it gets to say 55% and still smells like hey do I keep burping and how often? This curing stuff if harder then growing..the hey smell is stressing me out!
It's actually anything below 55% is to dry to cure. You actually want to be in the 55-60% humidity range to be able to store and cure without having issues like mold or mildew.Once it gets under 58% I believe it is too dry to cure.
That is what I would aim for. The slower you let the moisture and chlorophyll seep out of the bud the better but once it is in between. 55-60% you can store it without have to check it every 12 hours. It usually takes me about 5-7 days to dry in a dark room. Once I take it out of the dry room I put my buds in an oven bag for a few days opening once a day. In about 10-14 days from the initial dry, is when I decide to throw them into jars. I don't use hygrometers anymore but my moisture levels are right about 50-60% once they go into jars. If I want to keep some for the future I throw some jars into a wine chiller (63 degrees) and let them sit checking about every month. If I decide I wanna smoke it, I just put it in a dark box inside my house and open when I'm ready to medicate. Hope that answers most of your questions. If not PM and I'll help you out.So when it gets 55 60% I stop burping and just store it as is? sorry for all the questions, its my first grow. The grow went great. Don't want to screw things up this late in the game.
Thanks, I'll let you know how it turns out...thanks to everyone for helping me out. I really appreciate it.That is what I would aim for. P.s. not to get you disappointed, but I have never gotten a "hay" smell once my bud is dry. I have heard of the smell coming back in some strains but if it doesn't come back, don't get down on yourself...we all screw up. "if you haven't fallen, you've never learned to get up"
