TGA Vortex Grow. Pheno Hunt Take II. After running our 4 Vortex in 1 gallon test pots we decided to run them all again in 10 gallon Smart Pots. Through a combination of Supercropping and LST (Low Stress Training) we train our plants into bushes over the course of their veg cycle. We have 2 distinct phenotypes with 2 plants each (1 and 4 vs. 2 and 3) so we should get a really good sense of what Vortex can do in our garden. All 4 Vortex phenotypes are packing on resin right now, really starting to glisten. Aroma is beginning to rise as well. Let's take an early look..

Thanks. I was running my nutes at 75% strength but have recently been pushing up to 100% strength.

Vortex seems to handle the nutes without problem compared to other strains. I don't think Vortex burns easily.

I'll be curious to see after growing out apollo how much if anything it share swith vortex. Also curious to hear how you think it compares to Timewreck, CQ and some of the other TGA strains I already have in my arsenal

I definitely have 2 Apollo leaning and 2 Space Queen leaning.. I have never grown out Apollo (I am waiting on the beans) and have 2 Space Jill in flower now.

In my 1 gal test run Vortex did not compare to CQ, which is my favorite TGA strain to date. We will see how the 10 gal Vortices do. They are looking most dank.

I must have skimmed this post before... CQ is your favorite of all you've had so far. NOTED. Second note: Need to get cuts of my CQ seedlings from the guy I gifted them to when I had to shut my grow down temporarily Hoping to get cuts of all the females -- we'll see. So you preferred CQ over TW even? Why is CQ your favorite? Have you ever grown ace of spades?

I have not grown AOS but I want to and Sub thinks I should run it as well. Sub recommended CQ to me when we first met due to it's potency and terpene profile. My wife makes incredible medicated edibles and we thought CQ would be interesting to make butter with. I want a warehouse full of CQ now. My favorite CQ cut has the higher CBD% but also the more developed flavors and aromas. I would easily pop more CQ beans to look for more keepers even though I already have 2 keepers. I can't say that about anything else right now.. but look for my Space Jill update... YOWZERS!

Yeah I'm impressed by the CQ phenos you've gotten but I don't think you've found the ultimate one yet... we already know there are higher CBD% phenos somewhere in those genetics I know how you feel about CQ -- it's how about my apollo #2 pheno so far

all 5 of my CQ's are looking better after i cooked them in the greenie....i hope i get some ladies to play with....if not i plan to reorder it pronto....i just got a big order today.....i am up to 20 tga strains! i am a nerd.

UPDATE: Day 44 Flower, Holy Fuck/Dr.Seuss/LSD25 Edition.

We are into our 6th week of flowering our 4 Vortex phenos and Holy Fuck they are looking awesome, blowing it out in 10 gallon SmartPots. The colors being displayed are absolutely incredible while the aroma is off the hook, super strong and pungent, dank and delicious. What is completely blowing me away though is the trichome production, I have never seen such long necks on such vast fields of resin glands... it looks like Dr.Seuss sprinkled LSD25 all over a high def sugar coated wonder world, the buds are shimmering with crystal nuggetry. Vortex appears to be some DANK Ass Science at it's best.

I have not run Vortex outside and indoor is much more my specialty. I would say Vortex needs support in my experience, staking up, etc. So be ready for that whether you are in or out.

I think you will be really happy with the results either way and would love to hear of your experience.
