Using a simple baffle to prevent nozzle spatter will only make things worse. You`ll get a river of liquid water flowing off the baffle and the impact of the mist into the liquid film on the baffle will create even larger droplets than the spatter you`re trying to prevent. Its better to have the right mist without any spatter

Just trying to save you some time exploring dead ends. If you need to fix the mist after it leaves the nozzle/rotary disc then its perhaps not the best method to begin with.
No point setting design goals if the design doesnt come close to acheiving them. The nutes impacting on the baffle will drain to waste without ever reaching a root, not only a waste of water/nutes but also power as you`ll need to use more mist to make up for the nutes coalescing on the baffle that would otherwise be filling the chamber.

I'm just messin with ya. I believe our tanks are large enough the nozzle can be placed low enough not to be an issue. I'll start a new thread in the near future once we start putting everything together. Trichy is right, I don't want to thread jack this anymore than I already have.

lol good, cuz I don't know what OKC Boys are... Seriously, I have never watched even one entire superbowl game in my life. I must be communist or something lol... Sports on tv really bore me lose my attention span almost immediately. I don't really watch tv at all though, save for the few discovery and science channel shows once in a while "into the wormhole" anyone?

And I thought I was the only one! It usually works out well, cuz most girls only "tolerate" guys and their sports. I'm lucky in that I do like playing PS3, and my girl actually likes playing certain games with me, I love it! We got really sucked into Resident Evil 5, lol...

Wormhole is the bomb! Mythbusters is pretty good too. I'm jealous of their ability to acquire just about anything for a build. Everytime i see grant using one of those millisecond timers i can't help but think about mist, lol. I also don't dig watchin sports, weird...

I think the very fact we all have met up here having interest in true aero probably puts us with alot more in common with eachother than the other average joes in the world... It's nice to know I'm not as alone as I figured i was...

I think they are about $80 a pop and $60 for the adapter. They sent these for free to try out. I guess I'm the first person to attempt Aeroponics with their nozzles.

The orifice is really large so I don't see any clogging issues arising with these.

Yup, that's the nice thing about the aa nozzles, not to mention the compressed air seems it would help blow out anything. We all tend to use clear chemical nutrients with r.o. water anyway, so there's nothing to really worry about unless you wanna use organics which just isn't a good idea and unnecessary with this style imo.

AJ, its what you might call a passive ultrasonic nozzle. The aerolife nozzles use exactly the same principle.

Experience with the aerolife is it is air conservative, however the droplets may be too small to grow good roots without alot of trouble compared to what I've seen with some other nozzles. Still testing various paramaters however. As good as tight uniformity in the droplets sounds, I am beginning to think having a range offers some benefits as they evaporate a different rates and distances across the chamber.
