Im an organic failure.

I went to the local organic store and the sales guy suggested I stick with what I know,
Maxsea.
Reason is I failed last year and this year im well on my way to stunted small plants.
1. I don't have built up soil, its new high end.
2. I don't have years of experience,
3. My first tea sucked!
4. My pots are SMALL 65 gallons.
5. Very late planting this year.
6. Last year the nodes did not fill out and make HUG$E buds.
7. Im noob and I make so many mistakes.
8. I work for a large collective, they don't care any way!

I was reading my "Organic" liquid nutrients were already jacked up with copper and a ton of organic derived non OMRI compounds.

I salute you guys but im bowing out,

Next year I will start in Febuary.

Im still going to tea with guanno but so far my plants look pretty stupid, small.

This is just the tops, each plant did 5 pounds of delicious produce.

Its ridiculous, I can feed 125% and its got everything in there.
My guy suggested feeding every other watering at 100%.
It grows 3 inches a day and I have a very late start because drama.
It has salts and I flush once a week.

My buds are the size of baby's arms.

Im not advocating for chemical nutrients but going organic by flopping down your credit card at the local hydro shop
is not all their is to it. You need a good mind and experience for 100% organic and its proving to hard for me.

Just another year with smallish plants, ever feeding all kinds of weird guannos and nutrients and its not going well.

Bowing out until next year, reading up and hanging out with more experienced organic guys and learning.

Maybe you should try bottled organic nutes like earth juice first for your main crop, and then have a couple plants for you to kind of experiment on with teas and your own soil mixes and what not as you learn more about organic growing. It's really not that hard, you've just gotta get the hang of it. Dont give up man, you'll get everything down eventually.

It's a skill that you have to build on just like the act of growing cannabis as a plant is something that you've already built on. I remember when the first time I took the organic dive and my yields suffered badly for it jsut like you but I didn't stop there, I figured out a few things and changed/trimmed out a few things etc instead on subsequent grows thereafter. End product kept getting better and yields became a non issue is what kept me focused. Next time don't commit your entire real estate on organics, do only part of it organics until you get that part dialed in and then go for 100 percent organic garden.

This is how I am attempting it too, trying to ease in (bc it can get staggering for me at times). I have EJ stuff AND stuff (like guanos and kelp) for the alternate feeds. (I began using FF stuff / current grow ) EJ for some insurance until I can get it dialed in a bit better. Whatever THAT grow was using??? Ummmm... I want that! monster beauties!!

I've used maxsea and another brand almost identicle to it. Stuff works well, but i too have gone the organic route and have moved on from it. What was the reason for your tea(s) turning out "shitty"?

Dude, dont give up........... I have grown with synthetic nutes, hydro and now im all organic. Nothing beats it!!!! Get it down pat and everybody will be jealous of your crops. You will be jealous of your own crops lol.

I have not even read this entire thread. I felt so compelled after you said "

I'm a little disappointed you would give up so soon though! In the IMMORTAL words of Jimmy V, "NEVER GIVE UP!!". You gotta do what you gotta do sometimes though for sure. I do believe you have to have a good mind to be an organic in the sense that you need to do a lot more than just follow some directions on the back of a bottle and expect a good grow. To me thats not what "organics" is. It's about soil biology and learning about how things affect your soil when you add them if you choose to even do so. Most good organic growers I know, myself included spend the time learning about that sort of thing..Not saying that growers who aren't organic aren't doing the same...I dunno, I'm rambling, but it takes a certain kind of person...that I do know. Put me in a room full of growers and after a meet and greet I'm pretty damn sure I could tell you who the "dirt loving organic" guys are....Just saying.....​

Beeb you are correct, I do not have good soil biology what so ever at all. I thought just go buy Empire builder soil and treat plants well and feed and feed but my hydro shop said it can take YEARS to get great soil.
Id done so many mistakes already this year including finding MITES today.

FWIW, I plan on using half the nutrients and using a full line of bagged dry guanos and tea.

Brohym, I got an easy method, all you do is add water, basicly...
For soil:
1 bag of Roots and 1 bag of Fox Farm, add 2cups of worm castings, 1/2 cup of bone meal, 1/2 cup of kelp meal, 1 cup of dolomite lime, 1/4 cup of Epsom salt, and a few table spoons of Azomite (optional)
Mix all this up on a tarp or in a kiddy pool and add a gallon of water, fill up some thick walled garbage bags or put the soil back in their original bags and put them in your front yard for a couple weeks.
Google how to build an "Earthbox" and build one, haha..
Fill your earthbox up 3/4 full with your soil mix
Put your 4 week old seedling into the earthbox and keep your water levels in check. The soil mix will last for about 3-4 weeks before needing any additional fertilizer supplements.
When its time to flower:
Add Botanicare Pure Bloom granuals and till into the top soil.
Next, fill the remaining 1/4 space of your earthbox with your previous made soil mix. (dont overfill tho)
Then just keep your water levels in check and water with a brewed compost tea every few weeks and youll have great nugs of heaven

Some people have a knack for it and some people don't. Some people like the mathematical equations that it takes to run a chemical grow and others like the natural feel or organics. I'm sure he's read plenty like the rest of us, but putting it into practice is a different question entirely. Like suggested earlier, he needs to have a couple plants to play with to help him learn it without reducing his overall crop.

BTW, I only clicked on this thread because I remember DAJ's avatar from last night and wanted to see it again. Its a good avatar, sir. You should link a nigga to a bigger version of it.

id like to expand on this further, unless you where to have no interaction with the plant at all, including its death and decay back into soil from what i understand it isnt 100% organic.

but as tip top said water isnt organic as it does not contain a carbon atom, although it is vital to the process of all organisms.
