that seems efficient enough for blueberries. but how about strawberries. and cucumbers. and pumpkins. and watermelon. and grapes.

there are a ton more which simply can not be automated.
That's what they said about olives. They're too fragile. Now pretty much no for profit does by hand.

If man was meant to fly, he'd been born with wings.

i'll grant your premise that we can harvest everything more efficiently in an automated fashion, although i disagree.

suppose we automate everything tomorrow and wipe out a huge part of the economy and get higher profit at lower production at the cost of jobs, who does that benefit? you've got a huge part of the workforce, illegal or not, out of business. they are no longer paying property and gas and sales taxes nor spending what they earn within local economies. often, even the illegals pay federal and state taxes under a false SS. so we lose a significant part of our economy and tax base.

if the market moves to automation, let it do that. right now, many people benefit from illegal immigration, the free market says so. if we made work permits for immigrants easier to obtain, we could even stop the exploitation factor of illegal immigration, which would level the playing field. americans could compete with mexicans for those jobs in harvesting fruits and veggies, as well as jobs in the framing walls and demo field of construction. guess who wins that one? illegal, legal, same difference on american workers.

i'm fucking high.

Living in the North Midwest of North America, i really have no opinion on the immigration issue. It doesn't affect me personally so I haven't taken the time to learn about it. Call me ignorant or lazy (you're probably right), but that's the truth.
When I lived in Illinois I felt the same way. It wasnt til I moved back to Cali that I realized how big of a problem it is.

farmers and ranchers who need workers,, that's who cares. not to mention all the other businesses that americans are too good to work for.

you're usually pro business to a tee until it comes down to immigration, i wonder why...
I think I'll let you answer your own question.

not following your logic, but it seems like you did not read my entire post
Everything below the sentence you quoted from my post answers your question...

You guys do realize who occupied this country/land first right...just saying
You liberals are a really fucking stupid bunch, aren't ya? I guess the only real humans are Sub-Saharan Africans, without neanderthal DNA. That is the sort of thinking which led to eugenics philosophy and the extermination of millions, including the actions done by the Japanese Kenpeitai. They killed over 10 million people. Unit 731 tortured over 3,000 people to death using experiments beyond imagination. Nearly 600,000 were killed using biological warfare. This was all done in the name of who was "first," "better," etc. There are sick fucks like Junichiro Koizumi and Shinzo Abe, part of the Liberal Democratic Party, who consider these acts were done by the honorable war dead. So you're in good company. ... Just saying.

Dude calm your earth eating ass down..I was speaking of the Americas (hence the word "country" was used). The land that people claim as they own is not. How can you claim something that was taken from others ( by hook or crook) and think the law of nature will not see it corrected to some degree. Mexicans are Indians too. Do remember that when you keep talking about your freakin land...

My land really isn't my land. It belongs to a bunch of dead people. Got it.
