Whats going on with young men these days? Living at home with mom, not looking for work, not even helping there parents with chores or bills. Sitting in there rooms smoking pot and bitching when there mom lets the mountian dew run out. The other day my 50 year old uncle (That still lives at home) seen that his mom made him out a bill, with rent and utilities, he crumbled it up in a ball and shot a 3-pointer right in the trash can. I have a feeling alot of guys on RUI are the same way, anyone brave enough to admit that they are a dead beat loser????????????????

Im going through the opposite, my parents are coming to live with me soon and I am renovating an area of our house for them. I think it is good to take care of family, even though they might sometimes treat me badly, but then I realize i havent been the perfect son either and we forgive our mistakes.

simple. I am trying to find work but my area has like 16% unemployment and so its a struggle.
but i do chores, etc around the house.
i cant imagine living like my friend who does whatever she wants all day, no school, barely any chores, no job.

My younger brother his girlfriend and I live together and later this year our mom is going to be moving in with us. My dad got a job out of state so we asked her to move in with us so she wouldnt be lonely. Family needs to stick together when times call for it.

im not saying just cause you live at home ur a deadbeat, but not doing chores or helping with bills or being respectfull is bull shit. My uncle loves to deep fry, makes a big greesy mess then goes to his room for a nap. His moms always yelling "I smell skunk" must be something in his pocket. I go over there to help with chores, he will start bossing me around then then 5 minutes later he'll jump in his car to ride around and burn while i'm working. Comes back all ripped then sucks down all the pop and gobbles all the snacks he dont pay for

I didnt realize I was gonna get blasted on this one. I lived with my mom for a few month while I was relocating from another city, just untill I got on my feet. When I was there I bought groceries for everyone, helped with chores, dishes, firewood, cleaning bathroom ect., paid whatever I could toward rent, and stayed the fuck out of everyones way. I guess Im just to proud of a person to be a bum, I just feel like society is changing and being a bum is acceptable now.

i see no problem in living with you mom, i don't feel it necessary make you a "dead beat looser". one, possibly, important thing to consider is why you are living with your mom.

I, however, can not see how it is something to take pride in.
