Race? Your arguing technicalities. He listed American like it was the same as irish, german, etc. The only group of ppl indigenous to America are native americans.
Say what? Irish, Germans, Scottish, Dutch, ... aside from the Basques, are all the same people, descendants of each other - with different ethnicities and nationalities. American is both a nationality and it can be an ethnicity. These aren't technicalities they just are.

Native Americans are all Americans when it comes to nationality but each tribe has a separate ethnicity. There is no "Native American ethnicity" but Crow, Blackfoot, ... each have an ethnicity, and within the larger nations each tribe can also have a sub ethnicity. It's a pretty vague term. Actually you could probably argue that there is a "native american" ethnicity, even though the tribes have completely different traditions and a few want to kill a few of the others. Very vague term.

And within just Ireland you have at least 3 ethnicities - Northern, Southern, Traveler. I'm sure there's more there as well.

"American" is not an ethnicity, unless you mean native american.
i think you read my statement wrong, which is probably my fault.

i meant:

as an american person, the nationalities of irish, german, and scottish = simply white to me. meaning that in this country, it's rare to distinguish between them unless you're very old school.

Most people prefer people who look somewhat like their own family, but have a different smell (indicates their immune system is different enough that they're not blood relatives). There's a balancing point - it's good to breed with similar genetics, but not TOO similar.

I find certain ladies of a different ethnicity very exotic & attractive.
My lovely wife is a Cajun (she prefers "Coon-Ass") and her allure was the chink in my "being single" armor.
Plus she claims to have put a gris gris on me.

It worked in a big way !

My aunts husband is Basque. His family herds sheep and watches Nascar.

That clears things up.

I was married to an Irish girl. Our crazy Irish drinking didn't work out well for us. Both of us getting crazy drunk was beyond rediculous.

Lots of those Native Americans are Native Canadians too.

I honestly don't have a preference.

As long as she has 2 eyes, 2 ears, and a mouth (optional) then she's all good in my book

I don't really have a preference, we all came from africa anyway, so I don't see what the big deal is.
