Here's What May Be A Dumb Question

When composing a reply to a thread (in the "Reply" window), how can I "click out", to varify a reference, then "click back in" without loseing what I've already written?

I've done this on numerous occations and it seems like sometimes I'm returned to the same "Reply Window" I was working on (still in progress) - and sometimes I'm returned to a blank "Reply Window" with everything deleted. What's up whith that?

If I'm writting a short responce, I usually just start over. But if it's a long winded, complicated, responce that gets lost, I usually just say "Aw, shit!" and go on to something else.

I guess I could "Select" everything in the window and click "Edit" - "Save" beforehand. There must be a better way!

Or if your browser does not allow that you can always highlight the text, right click & copy to your clip board.

Isn't that about the same thing as what I said in the last sentence? I guess I was thinking "highlight" but wrote "select", sorry 'bout that. Usually, I just go for the Edit Menu up at the top of the screen, I guess I'm not much of a "Right Click" guy.

Anyway, thanks for the input!
