I think ebb and flow like this would be very easy and I know that they work effectively and cheap to make go to big lots costco or something and get 2 rubbermaid containers for like $15 find a plastic tube for overflow by some silicone to seal it in place aquarium pump $10 at walmart and another section of plastic tubing u could make pots in the top of the rubbermaid to hold some hydroton or cut the rubbermaid in half and fill with hydroton and put the plants in rockwool blocks im really blitzed:joint: so if that doesn't make sense I can try to elaborate.................:peace:

Wow! This tread has turned out awesome.I think ive learned more in this tread then any of the other ones ive posted.

We have basicly covered ever single begginer and cheap hydro set-up possilbe. And all these set-up can be made from things in common stores.

Now i have ideas coming out my ass,on wut to do for my next "soiless" grow.

Like if anyone has thougth of starting with the art of hydroponics this tread will explian all basic ideas on the topic. So this tread has become a good lesson for someone who has no expirence hydro.

If anyone can think of any other set-up they have seen or herd of that was missed and u think is another important option to consider, post em' up.Migth as well cover everything at this piont.Becuase this thread will def. come in handy for newbs that want to learn. (like myself LOL)

For these fill cycles, what should the timer be set for?

3 times a day for 5 minutes at a time?

Sure that would be good - when I used ebb&flo/fill&drain systems, I always fed 3 times a day during the lights on cycle only and would allow the pump to run for 15 mins, but that was mostly because by timer didn't have 5 min intervals...

Here's a kool video that will show you both ebb&flo and drip systems - check it out... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KVO26htvoQ

yup ebb and flow or the usualy name flood tables are very simple.I flood 8 times a day for 15 minutes when in heavy veg or flower. Istart the timer at 3 times at first then 6 then 8 times all 15 minutes.Az my comment was in general as everytime I tried to get info on hempy setups I was met with nothing but angry people which totatlly turned me off from even caring about a hempy setup so its not one Id ever use.Like you told me I can ask about hempy in as many threads as Id like...didnt mean I ever got any non angry answers to learn about them so I checked them off the list of things to ever try especially seeing that nasty root bound ball of perlite in that picture.Over the years though flood table have been the easiest way I have come across since its just about impossible to screw it up if you know the very basics of growing.I still have never seen anyone clog a flood table pump or drain so still trying to figure out how someone said they did that lolGood luck with whatever method you choose.

Hey FF - I'm sorry to hear that you never intend to try Hempy, because of the comments of others.

And let me take this time to offer you my apologizes again, for being a hot head - I apologize!

I enjoy your journals very much and even made my cloner following your design!!!

Well, hempy or not, I hope all your grows are wonderful!

BTW: I tried to PM this to you, but you Inbox is full...

if you want simple go hempy bucket, and you dont have to take my word or WWW or AZ, do what I did after I first read AZ's thread google hempy buckets, every post you see is 100% positive, no matter what message board you go too... the only negativity on the subject seems to come from people that have never tried it..... I started with a dwc, based on filthys design, I am now 100% hempy... not to say that dwc doenst work, but if you want simple and cheap then IMHO you cant beat hempy...... I know its hard to make a decision on how to grow, but when you get advise, make sure its coming from people that have TRIED different systems, not just those with an Opinion based on nothing.......

that is ridiculous, as I stated, get your info from someone that has tried systems, not someone that wont try it because there feelings got hurt...
