More refineries would help too.
ding ding ding! we have a winner. we finally both agree.

the recent surge in gas prices (which has since receded, but i don't see anyone blaming obama for that drop in gas prices ) was partly due to refineries going out of date and needing to be shut down.

i'm just referencing the 'disgust' at a state moratorium on drilling... go ahead start googling... i bet you'd love the images of commercial sprawl destroying nature....

I'm still looking to find pictures of the parts of Venice today that are ruined. I'm having a hard time here. Could you supply me with some pictures or something? Thanks.

Refineries collude on when to go down with maintenance

Ever notice also that when the price of crude goes up
Immediatly the price of gas goes up

Even though that oil was bought and brought here months ago?

Those with the “drill, baby, drill” mentality are either ignorant to the fact that we do not need more oil or are being manipulated and used as shills by the big oil conglomerates in order to increase their unprecedented profits.
Our country has a surplus of oil. Oil demand in our country is the lowest it has been in the last 10 years. In fact, since 1908 the United States has been exporting oil to countries such as Brazil, Mexico and Chile. Prior to that, we had consumed all the gas we produced plus imported gas. We presently have more drill sites, are drilling more than ever and are producing greater quantities of oil than we have in the last 10 years.

another copy and paste job, i thought those were verboten under the new dictatorship?

that shitty little 3 paragraph article was pure bullshit.

what the retarded author intended to say was :

the US exports plenty of GASOLINE AND OTHER OIL BASED FUELS to other countries. the most important part of the oil, the medium wieght materials that make up perhaps 60% of the mass but only about 10% of the volume of the barrel are NOT exported, but in fact we are net IMPORTERS of these materials.

the author, and you cheesus do not understand how fractional distillation works.

oil is not just a bunch of gasoline with impurities in it. gasoline is one of the impurities that contaminates the desired product which is medium weight hydrocarbons for industrial and chemical feedstocks.

the middle weight stuff is what we want, to make plastics, textiles, dyes, pharmaceuticals, lubricants, and even some food products. failure to understand this is not your failing (maybe), but the failing of the press who perpetuate the myth that gas prices are related to our imports of oil. they sell this idea like its going out of style with no consideration for truth fact or reality.

gasoline is a waste byproduct used as a motor fuel instead of burning it in open pits. propane and tar are also by products with some marketability, but gasoline is in high demand worldwide, and thus it is shipped WORLDWIDE. the cost of gasoline in the us is dependent on the price of gasoline (lets call it "P" for price) plus the cost of selling it here due to regulations and funky special formulations (lets call that "R" for regulatory) vs the cost of shipping it to another country (lets call it "E" for export price)+ the price for sellling gasoline there (lets call that "F" for foreign regulation) + the cost of shipping it there ("S" for shipping). so (P+R)= price per gallon here (lets call that "A" for actual price), and (E+F+S)= price per gallon in foreign country. (lets call that "G" for gouging)

if A is greater than G, the gasoline stays here, if G is higher than A, that shit gets loaded into a boat and sailed to East Kreplachistan and sold there. the inevitable result is higher prices here, and in East Kreplachistan.

welcome to free trade.

you might want to actually learn how markets work, and how oil is fractionally distilled into it's component parts before making an ass of yourself.

Well, at least the French have given the state of New York a gift. I think we all know they are taxing the wealthy with a 75% tax rate and when adding all taxes they will pay a 90% tax rate. They are now buying homes in New York.

They are leaving France, like the British left England back in the 70's. There is a lesson to be learned.

The USA is producing more Oil now than it ever has in its entire history

That oil that flows down from Canada

Gets stuck here and sold at a discount

But you are the kinda of person who believes we should help the canadians build a pipeline over one of the worlds largest bodies of freshwater so they can get it to the Gulf and export it overseas at a higher mark up

First off, I asked for pictures of the parts of Venice that are ruined from the oil fields, not some cute little black things of tar.

Second off, Did you read your own link? LOL

Third of all, read here, kid: http://www.whoi.edu/oilinocean/page.do?pid=51880
Here, I will give you a little snip it of, for your convenience.
"In locations where seeps are found, oil flows slowly up through networks of cracks, forming springs of hydrocarbons similar to the La Brae tar pits on land"
Notice the bold word, and notice the pictures in your link.

Forth of all, I am still waiting for my reply in the thread where you accused me of anti gay dialect. I am getting a little impatient over here.

parts of california's coastline has been devastated by oil drilling.

google venice beach oil fields... fucking regulation... helping keep our beaches clean and safe for our use... so worthless...
google Deez Nutz!!

oil has been seeping onto the beaches of southern califonia for MILLENIA!!! you see, in southern california the oil reserves are near the surface. and off the coast they are under pressure from the ocean above, this results in tar pools on the surface (google the labrea tar pits) and bubbles of tar pop to the ocean's surface regularly. (google malibu tar balls) the massive outcroppings of extruded tar and sand have long since been mined and used to make wooden ships, to seal woven grass vessles, to chink leaky canoes, to tar sails and lines for boats, etc etc etc, but the processes that created the tar massifs continues. this is a natural and unstoppable process. drilling and extracting the oil off the coast and in the near-surface oil feilds reduces the contamination that has been occurring naturally since before the last ice age.

uhhhh several companies have oil rights and oil leases off the coast of california but are forbidden from drilling or exploring by a federal moratorium since the gulf spill, and a state moratorium on offshore drilling in effect since the early 90's

even the few operating drills in california's land based oil feilds are limited to existing well heads only.

if you are not allowed to drill claiming its a plot by evil corporations is ridiculous.

If there is a hold up on drilling in certain areas it is for good reason..these greedy fucks have proven over n over that they are fucking inept and don't give a fuck about the enviroment..BP should have gone bankrupt after that spill on the gulf..the fines should have been astronomical.

hmm, your statement puzzles me, you insignificant twat. i have never espoused support for any pipeline from canada, nor do i hold strong feelings on the matter, you putrescent little purple hued malt worm.

perhaps in your heat oppressed brain you have confused me with some figment of your deluded imagination, or perhaps your addled wits and substandard intellect have conspired to deceive you into believing your opinion of my putative vagina holds any meaning for me.

mayhap your deplorable personal hygiene and questionable heterosexuality has sparked within you the desire to be involved in an homosexual encounter with myself, yet your deep seated fears and phobias of the love that dare not speak it's name has forced you to envision me with an uterus. regardless of your passionate desire to be pleasured by me, mounted by me, and taken like a wanton mare in heat by me, your fantastical desires and unwholesome needs will be forever doomed to live only within your dreams, as The Doc dont roll like that.

I supported no such bailout for GM or any banks...if these greedy pricks want capitalism and survival of the fittest by letting the market determine who wins/loses ...then let them go belly up....Ford took no bailout I believe and seems fine.
