OK - So how does a MI boy know about Mr Zogs? Best smell in the world!!!!

Oh - and OMG that is the most beautiful pictures and subject I have ever seen! So clean and symetrical! That top shot is amazing - perfect fade :)

Do you ever get ants? Got any tricks for getting rid of them? I have heard coffee, turpentine, gasoline...

Nugs, I hope I have enough equity left with you for one more question. Somewhere buried in one of your two epic threads you mentioned the velcro straps. Could I trouble you for the poop on those? Just a brand name or such would be very helpful.

I'm going to run 1 gallon Geo Pots (with the tear away velcro) then transplant to 5 gallon GPots. I was really interested to see your informal experiment with your burlap bag vs hard pot. Hopefully I can arrange a system that allows for mainlining training in the fabric pots. I will very much love the added height I get from using the shorter geo pots (as compared to my very tall 7 gallon pails)

EDIT: I shamelessly added another question. I like how you built your cages and wonder what gauge wire you're using. I assume that's standard steel.

velcro tie downs work great with most smarties....these are what i use
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005755YSQ/ref=asc_df_B005755YSQ2084571?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=asn&creative=395093&creativeASIN=B005755YSQ&hvpos=1o2&hvexid=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7648689041986279417&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=

i make the canopy rings out of the 5 ft. heavy duty tomato cages, or enameled heavy peony cages.....the big outdo ones i make out of the standard gage hog panel......and use a heavy bolt cutters to cut it all....

did some research......#7's are 7 liquid gallons......5's are too small for me.....great fade, but too much watering......you may also want to play with your ss % in 7's.....:leaf:
They're probably not seven liquid gallons. Horticulture pots are usually measured in trade gallons which are about 30% smaller than a liquid gallon. So a seven gallon smart pot is should be about five liquid gallons.

Look at your local Home Depot if you have one close. They have them in the garden section with the trellises and misc acessories. They are only like $2.50 a roll! They work killer with the smartties, never lookin back now!

Their soil calculator lists a different amount. I sent them an email asking how they measure their pots. It would be strange if they went against an industry standard.

A five gallon bucket is 12 inches in diameter and 15 inches tall. A seven gallon smart pot is 14 inches in diameter and is 10.5 inches tall. If the five gallon bucket fits five liquid gallons and has a larger volume than the seven gallon smart pot how could the seven gallon smart pot fit seven liquid gallons?

sometimes a picture is worth a 1000 liquid gallons!

....trust me bro, i was rooting for you, it would have meant i had been crushing the ounce yield/gallon soil threshold for the last couple of years!

Yup you've definitely been correct the whole time, I can't argue against that picture. It's still kinda weird that they go against the norm.

This is good to know. For me, the 7 gallon smart pot is still a lot shorter than my 7 gallon pails. I'm doing Plush Berry (again!) I'll be growing two girls under 600W HPS.
