Legal v. Illegal

Hey Padawanbater, you should give this a watch if you haven`t already:

All the facts you need to understand this whole mess really...

Potsmokers are increasing, they can`t fool us forever don`t forget. More people are smoking this wonderful herb. If its fully legalised in a few countries, the amount of people who try cannabis in any society will increase.

And as it doesn`t cause any harm or violence it will propably eventually creep up on alcohol and kick it right off the scene :)

tobacco is probably legal cause it doesnt really get you high and people like the action of smoking. you can smoke alot of tobacco and still be "sober" and it has been used for along time. you shouldnt make tobacco illegal and legalize marijuana. it would be the opposite of what the whole legalize it movement is for. everyone should have the option to put whatever they would like in them.

Well said. Besides that, there is nothing better than smoking a nice menthol cig after a nice bowl. MMMMMMMM :hump:

Why are some substances that are scientifically proven to cause more harm than currently illegal substances legal?

Tobacco is the main one that comes to mind. Why is tobacco legal?

Also, in your opinion, do you think tobacco (and similar products) should be legal? Why/why not?
i just brought this point up in the gardening section. there are plants that are toxic to humans that we grow as ornamentals and weeds, like Poke weed that are poisonous if injested that grow everywhere. the yew tree/bush we grow shows red berry like fruits in fall that are not poisonous but the arils (seeds) inside are very poisonous. I regularly pull woody nightshade and it's cousin deadly nightshade grows on the west coast. very poisonous. all legal to grow. but the most toxic of all is a powerful protein called ricin which comes from the castor oil plant, Ricinus communis. it is grown as an ornamental in gardens everywhere. It's easy to extract ricin from the seed and extreemly deadly. and again...legal to grow. most cops don't even know wtf it looks like. many gardeners do. there was a story about a russian hit man who killed his victims with a sharpened umbrella point dipped in ricin. it only takes a microgram to kill. and a doctor who killed his wife with the same drug, the effects of which were originally misdiagnosed as natural causes. but Cannabis has never killed anyone, ever. to overdose on it would take a enclosed area and you would need to be subjected to a lot of cannabis smoke...so much that your death would not come from the cannabis but lack of oxygen. strange world we live in...fucking big pharma.the fact is mega drug companies won't let us grow it because they can't patent a drug that everyone can just grow themselves without their fucking help, thank you. it's all about money. period. and please don't try to extract ricin from the seed of the castor oil plant. you may kill yourself in the process. and that is not cool.

I agree, but the current system has clear and apparent flaws, especially in the scheduling process. Who is in charge of scheduling substances? Can we dig up some names?

I saw the Union a few years back, I think the year it was released, 09 or 11, I forgot. Joe Rogan just had Adam Scrogie on his podcast detailing the story behind how the movie actually got made and his next film in progress;

So what is stopping the population from straight up saying "this isn't consistent with this, so fix it or fuck you."?

It's happening all around you, you just haven't been on Gods Green Earth long enough to see it. You'll see sooner then you think.

With the Government,it always has come down to money,another thing is population subjugation to maintain the power and control of the mindset of the people.They do it with out relent and in any manner that fits into their current model.I mean look at what they do if they are presented with a bounty of facts that clearly states an ongoing issue in the country,everything from immigration to new energy sources that are much more efficient,taxes,healthcare, etc,and issues such as illegalization of marijuana.It is a failed "war" that they I dare to say they mindfully keep funded, because it works in their favor and can be continualy delayed through the courts until it becomes irrelevant to their already conjectured function at the time,whatever it may be.The cat and mouse game they so favor with abundant ignorance to the real issues at hand.They play dumb until it suits there agenda its that simple.The people of America need to assemble a concerted effort when speaking out against the government,now our communications are monitered for the sake of the patriot act and to try getting people to come around is all but futile,but all the while we have been made complacent,opiniated,and divided,comforted with modern luxury,paid off even.To many are comfortably deceieved with the way things are.How can we break this modern day schism to unite and make a real impact on how our Government conducts itself?
