possibly ...but i started with only one shop light $20 ...until it was flower time about 4-6 weeks ( which gave me time to save up for the hps....then i bought the 150w hps and nutrients $100-150...so for about $200 you can have a decent grow for his "First Time." ....shit ive even seen people flowering with t5's too...lol not that i would cuz i have an hps... but it can be done!

yes it can be done but why use more electric then you get back in smoke? baffles me.
i use a 400w hps, i get an oz per plant easy... say 150 an oz with 3 plants thats 450.. in what 4 months? i use about 50 a month prolly way less then that on electric so the rest goes to the equipment costs.
I highly suggest reading stickies. I spent hours upon hours researching every little thing I could. Kind of amazing really that several people were telling you to get good seeds when you are asking the very basic of questions that could of all been answered doing 5 minutes of research. Researching goes along way, but no..do not waste 50+ dollars on good seeds until you have at least 1-3 grows under your belt. Once you do that, just hit up Nirvana seeds..They have cheap seeds, ok genetics..Northern Lights, White Widow, AK48 are some good easy to grow strains. Just be sure to identify if your bagseed is an indica or sativa..Don't want to let a sativa veg for too long before flipping, otherwise it could easily outgrow your space

sativa is taller has leaves that are regular then a indica has huge broad leaves most of the time.

depending on your space. i would say indica only because i like my plants short, and stocky instead of tall and skinny..
its basically a personal preference..
