Just bought a 10,000 BTU window AC unit for my room. So now my girls have a better AC than I do. (I don't run the central air, too expensive)
This is insane... I need to move to Oregon.

I'm in my garage. I can get my room down to about 82 degrees, but that's the best I can do with fans and ventilation. The window shaker is just to get me through this summer. Next year we're expanding the room and doubling our lights (from 2K to 4K) and putting in a dual zone mini split. One for the room, the other for the garage/mancave.
CO2 is next... I have a big tank I need to have hydro tested and filled, then stop by DH and pick up the CO2 emitter thingie. Hopefully this weekend.

I also grow in the garage. I decided after my last harvest in June that that was it for the summer-It was just getting too hot out there and the price of electricity is just too high for me to justify an air conditioner for only 4-6 plants. Right now I'm just going to plan for the Fall and try to figure out exactly how far I want to go with the upgrades. This Summer I'm just chillin' and trying to learn how to play the guitar.

I've often wondered why there aren't more meet-ups. The primary reason that I created this account was to connect with more patients and get growing advice from people that have the same problems that I have here in the I.E. and learn how they overcame them. I am in SWRC-If I recall correctly from reading some of your posts you're just a couple of miles north of where I am. Anyway, I'm down to meet-up-Quite frankly I'm getting kind of tired of medicating by myself. Let's get together and talk about our favorite subject.
I think the biggest drawback is most people are scared of law enforcement. But to be honest...if we're legal there are no concerns. I've had riverside county sheriffs department at my house already and they were cordial and left me alone about my grow...so I'm far from paranoid.
I'm always down to kick it with people from here. Always fun to meet other growers.

Well, to be honest I am probably older than all of you (41) so my ingrained cannabis culture is one of complete prohibition. I started growing in 96 (I was 25) when no one would ever even tell their best friend they were growing. (And we got 4K an elbow. Man, those were the days) Sometimes old habits are hard to let go of. I've actually been hoping to meet with a few heads and compare notes, maybe share some cuts. It's just so damn hard to get over my old fears.
My wife, who doesn't smoke was the one who convinced me to expand the grow room to 4K from our current 2K. I was all paranoid and she looks at me and says, "You have your rec, right?" I says yeah. She says, "Honey, the DEA isn't looking for people like us. We're small potatoes."
Any of you want to meet at Kush Expo? Or should we just order pizza and meet at Phistank's pad?
Edit: Ok, you want to know what's the weirdest thing about the new marijuana landscape? "Medicating" Now don't get me wrong, I know about the medical benefits of cannabis, it's just that I am so used to my friends saying "Let's get stoned", "Hey, let's smoke a fat bowl and get baked!". Now everyone is "medicating". Bizarro world.

Haha sorry dude I still refer to it as getting stoned unless im in a place of business related to mmj. I'm always down to host something at the house. Throw some burgers on the grill or order some grub and hang out. As I said before...I'm legal so no worried about any of you being police...wouldn't get very far. And if anyone ever tried to rob me they wouldn't get far so not worried about that either. I just like meeting new people.
And yeah I'm one of the younger folks on here....only 25.

You make a good point. I am also legal so any police would be dissapointed with my small set up.
I have room at my place and am also down to have people over and BBQ and smoke a few bowls.
Kush expo is July 21 and 22. I am busy the 21st (sat) but can go on Sun., if anyone is interested. If not maybe we can meet at a park, bar, or whatever. Smoke a bowl and get to know each other. Since we're all in the same area, it could be good to know each other, maybe share info.

I'm 43, so I think that I'll probably be the oldest. As far as medicating vs. getting stoned goes I don't feel that there should be any real distinction. Sometimes I medicate, but a lot of times I just want to get high.

Let's try to set something up for this Saturday. I'm willing to host and can provide food, beverages, and music-I have medicine, but i'm thinking that everyone should at least bring a J or two to share. I'm thinking around noon or so before it gets too hot( it's supposed to get up to 93 on Saturday) to BBQ, I have a semi enclosed porch on the back of the house and we usually hang out there when people come over. Is anyone interested?

My electric bill was $175 last month. That's about double what I am used to. Although this always happens at least 1 month out of every summer for me where I live at now. I don't have the best insulated crib, and I blow the central air like crazy. I have to be comfortable in my own crib. AC and Cable TV has always been a necessity in my life. My dad was the same way. I bet my next bill is going to be just as crazy as this last one too. My lights for my grow only cause my bill to increase maybe $10-$20 more a month depending on how many hours I am running them. I am using a 400w HID with another 200w of CFL's at certain times. I don't think it is that bad really. Anyways I think this is the hottest summer that I can remember as far as how hot it has been for so many days straight. Plus we have had little rain where I am at. I'm not growing any weed outdoors, but I do have some flowers in my yard. Well I did have some flowers. They are all dead along with my crispy ass grass. I walked barefoot thru my yard and it felt like I was walking on burnt grass. I mean like from a fire burnt. I tried to water the flowers, but I could care less about the grass. Dead grass means less time cutting that shit. But yeah I would hate to see how hard it is to keep some cannabis plants happy out in this heat. It's bad enough trying to keep them cool inside the crib with this much heat. Lol!

Seriously, same here, wtf happened, lol.
I wish my bill was 175. Between keeping 3000 sq ft cool....my office going....and my plants happy...i'm kicking out a cool 600 a month in power right now.
And puppet...i'm always down to kick it. Will be spending most of the weekend working on this wrangler i just bought...but always open to chill.

My electric bill is about 400 - 500 a month depending on how often we run the AC and how many lights the wife and kid leave on. This is actually a low bill for my area. My next door neighbor runs at about 600 in winter and 1000+ in summer. But he's got 3 teenage sons and runs the central AC 24/7
