that sounds just about right for a 16 headed colne.....60-65 days veg...good luck...nugs

absolutely.....big pinch and crush....but avoid any lateral cracking across the stem....longitudinal only.....but if you can pull it off without any cracking, that would be advisable.

...here are a few random shots of main-lining clones.......i don't have much time these days to write, but thought these may be of help until things settle down a bit...(working dep and sun grows together).....if you have any specific questions, please ask, and i will do my best to answer.....

.......with clones, you have to look at it this way....in an asymetrical trunk, the leader will be dominant over any of the node growth below it......so it is just a matter of swaying the dominance away from the main until one of the chosen lower leaders catches up to it in vigor and stem diameter.......and that is done with a pretty radical pinch/bend/bond of the main....look at all bonding, pinching, and pruning as a form of supression, and use that to your advantage.........be well, nugs:leaf:

Nice style you got there seems to work very well for ya's. I like the little support circle used to hold up branches.
 
This is by far the best grow method I've ever seen I really respect your creatiVity and intellect. I will without a doubt be trying this

Cabinet Main-Lining...


….one of the main reason i gravitated towards the Main Lining technique and bonzai was to properly work within my space limits....i started growing in a closet, and needed a simple and easy method to manage the height of my canopy.......i have also recently built an auxiliary cabinet to do small test runs of TGA gear to expedite my search for keepers. This new cab is very short, with only about 20 inches of true space to work with.


Enter bonzai/mainlining.....the cannabis plant naturally shines with bonzai....its fast growth, and tenacity coupled with its incredible ability to recover from injury make it very enjoyable to work with.....it is like bozai on steroids!......it really is amazing how fast this plant recovers from serious bondage, almost like it enjoys it!...i am humbled every time i see a broken branch mend and heal itself, it truly is an incredible sight to see, and solidifies my respect for the plant every time i witness it.
…..here are a series of photos documenting a true bonzai grow i did last winter.....as you can see, i not only mainlined these four clones, but i also heavily bonded them, buy wrapping them in a spiral around the perimeter of their canopy space...
Note how the are also very square....trained to fit the footprint of the small cabinet perfectly.....it was nice to go through these older pics, this was overall a very enjoyable grow for me, and it taught me a whole lot about bonzai, mainlining, the cannabis plant, and myself.....enjoy

Thanks for the peak of how mainlining works in a cabinet.... sneaky bastards like me have limited space to work with and still keep it on the DL.
 
First off a huge thanks to nugbuckets for sharing this with us. This is a fantastic walk thru of his method and I'd like to give it a try very soon.

I'd also like to apologize for being overly stupid but I'm not sure I completely understand where your tuturial starts off?

Do you begin by topping just above the second true node? You later remove the first nodes for clones leaving the second topped node as the working "main"?
Then after some growth you top a second time and begin the bondage of the remaing four "mains"?

I've posted images below of your first three original pictures with illustrations of what I'm asking. Am I on the right track? Maybe I'm too stoned right now but I just cannot get my head wrapped around the starting point.

If these are obviously stupid questions please let me know and I'lld delete this post asap.

yeah bro, you got it....all except the center pic.....where you have it marked "topped again" is the four mains......you can clearly see in the first pic that we are working the second and third true nodes on the trunk....the cody leaves are still attatched, then the first true node (removed), then the clone node, then the hub.....there is no such thing as a stupid question bro.....only stupid people:-P.....much love, nugs:leaf:
 
you know you guys.......we are just starting to sink our teeth into what is ultimately going to become my book......i plan on keeping all my Main-Lining content seperated here in this thread, and leave the lab for soil testing, modular growing techniques including modular scrog, glamour shots and everything else.....so stay tuned to this thread.....you really have not seen anything yet!..........nugs

yes, i just got the chillz reading that...nugs, i will do whatever i can to support you and to help you spread the word. this is fucking awesome
 
after reading through all of this and your lab nugbuckets. I think I missed something. Why do you remove the first node and work with the second and third nodes. Is it just because of the single bladed fan leaf on the first node that makes it undesirable? or is it just a personal preference?

yeah just personal pref....seems too early.....i don't want to start training till she has some root mass.
