If the schedule says to stop using it, then I'd stop using it. See how the plant performs without it.

However, if you have root rot, the plant may be unrecoverable at that point.

It says that you can use Roots Excelurator throughout the entire grow if you need to. I don't think it will hurt anything; I used RE and my compost tea right up until the flush.

FYI - I was at a customer appreciation day at my hydro store and the H&G General Manager for the US was there and was going over the entire nutrient line and what each product does. He said to cut the Amino Treatment out 2 weeks before the feeding schedule says. I don't remember exactly what his explanation was but I plan on listening to him.

You should have said " Thanks for saving me 75 bucks dude!" lol..I cut mine off at the time the feeding chart said to.

For anyone that is wondering about the Soil A&B nutrients and their new NPK values -

A: 0.2 - 0 - 0.2
B: 0.1 - 0.1 - 0.3

becomes

A: 2 - 0 - 2
B: 1 - 1 - 3

Simple enough!

I just started using top booster and bud xl, and it made a huge difference in my bud size already. I can't wait to give shooting powder a try. Anyone have any tips before i throw shooting powder in the mix next week?

Lower your base nutrients before adding Shooting Powder as it will bump your PPM up nicely.

It's also pretty cool when you put the Shooting Powder in water.....it boils and smokes. :shock:

About how much will it affect the ppms? According to the feed chart the first week i'm supposed to stick with 95ml a and b, then every week after that use 57.5ml, do you think I should just start with the lower dose of base nutes or follow the feed chart? I was thinking the lack of top booster and amino treatment might also bring the ppms down some hence the reason for the base nutes being the same in the first week

It shot my PPMs up like the name "Shooting Powder" suggests. Start off slow and go from there.

I would lower the base nutes anyways, you can always add more. It seems like it is really difficult to dilute the solution once the nutes are in there, I kept draining it and adding more water but the PPM barely dropped. I always start off on the low side and add more as needed, but I am also running DWC and since the roots are in the solution 24/7 they can get easily burnt if the PPM is too high. It may be different for you.

I think I'll see what the ppms are at if I start at 57.5ml a & b. The literature I have on shooting powder says to bring your EC down to 1.2 before using it and right now I have an EC of about 2.3, or 1700ppm, so bringing the base nutes from 95ml to 57.5 should bring me somewhere in that range. I'm growing in soilless mix though, and even with this high EC I have yet to have burnt the plants, so maybe H & G knows what they're talking about with the feed chart not lowering the base nutes on the first week of shooting powder.

If you think your plants can handle it go ahead, but I would rather give my plants the least amount of nutes that they need. I think it makes for a cleaner end product.

it says to use roots excelurator with the shooting poweder. Does anyone do this? I'll do it, but the RE is so expensive, is it really necessary?

I looked up Final Bloom and it says it pumps up flower sizes so I would beware of anything that does that when using Shooting Powder. It doesn't look likes it's a high PK nutrient so it could be OK, but I personally wouldn't take the risk. You can always email H&G and ask them what they think.

Yeah they have since corrected that somewhere but not on their website. They need to update their website for a lot of shit.

I run DWC with air stones in each bucket that has a plant and I have no issues.

hah, you got me. I removed my quote after I read on their website not to combine with anything.
