I tink the general process of domestication has led to a degeneration in alot of animals... All dogs bar a few ancient breeds are basically wolves trapped in the puppy stage.

As for breeds created to be intelligent, they are often great at problem solving or one particular type of task but lack other skills or emotional intelligence.

I'm lucky to have a cat who understands me better than most humans do. The dog tricks he does are a bonus.

What if i told u all cats were actualy secret agents, they report back nightly when u sleep, beware Mr puffy is always lurking and listening. See they suck u in by making them all cute as kittens, next thing they know all ur dirty little secrets ......

Yeah, I've seen a few documentaries about this. I dunno about the breeding them for intelligence since most dogs are already pretty smart in their own special ways. Anyways tho, one of them was talking about them how people are ruining more and more the way dogs look.

The dachshund aka the weiner dog is not suppose to be that shape, not sure if it hurts then but I would think so in some way.

The ridgeback's spine has been deformed. The breeders claim it helps them run faster by snapping back quicker but just looks uncomfortable and straight ugly.

The bulldog has to have it's skin cut around it's nose sometimes just to breath, they straight butchered that breed.

Same with shar-pei, people want more and more wrinkles and it's movements is just impractical now, also has the same problem for breathing.

Few others I can't remember but dogs are going to hell if they keep doing things just because it pleases their needs, they don't think about or care about what the dog has to put up with.
