Here we go first grow.

Well I am going to start my first grow. I will add that I am a legal medical patient. I have a small cloning setup in a closet with 2 NYC Diesel clones going and doing well. One is about a week cloned and the other is 3 days today. This will be and indoor clone and veg setup and flowering outdoors in a small greenhouse. The reason for flowering out doors is to save money on the setup and electricity. I get plenty of intense sun light where I live pretty much 7-8 months of the year so why not take advantage of what the sun can do for us. Inside as said is the cloning area which will be getting more T5 lighting for veg. Here is a pics of the clone setup with my two ladies.

I am going to start building the green house today. Its like 97 degrees out right now so that will be fun. Dont worry the green house is to provide shade and reduce the heat the plants will see outside. I should get it 10-15 degrees cooler in the green house. More to come.

id take a 2 liter and cut it in half... you dont need that big of a dome for 2 clones

Yeah I know but more will be coming in the future and the clones are doing fine so why mess with it.
What is a good soil to use for a newbie?

i wouldnt use soil, grow dwc, thats what i do, i grew soil before and its nothing compared to dwc, and its easy/ cheap to make and your weed tastes better. i grow 12/12 from seed and look how big my plant is, its 2 months and 1 week old. and the other babys is skunk og 2 weeks old. i grow from seed, not clones, and theres 2 plants in the big bucket, 1 is smaller and on the right and 1 is the big bushy one thats everywhere

I was going to do bubble buckets but doing them outside with how fast the water will evap is not so smart. How is it cheaper and easier? Soil is always easier. I am going to start with soil then if I am good enough I will try to move the setup inside and to bubble buckets, but for now outside in soil is how I will be doing it. As for me using clones, I can get them really cheap if not free. Plus I know 100% the genetics of what I am growing.

Question on one of my clones. The bigger one has got some small yellow spots on 1-2 of the leaves and one of the leaves at the bottom is totally yellow. No dropping or curling leaves. What is causing this? I and feeding no nutes clones are just in a cloning dome with ro water.

I Started in SOIL - its good and forgiving for the newbie! Now I am using COCO which is a hundred times better than SOIL!
Next I want DWC!

Little update I made another clone so at 3 now. All are doing well and are rooting. I am using RO water and think the oldest clone is getting a little ca starved, it has some yellow spots on the leaves. I added a second 24" T5 light and will be getting a 4 bulb T5 fixture for Veg. For my planting medium I decided to use a soil coco mix and will be using Flora Nova and Ca Mg for nutes. I will post up some pics of the ladies and of the partly completed green house.

Little update on my grow. My clones are doing well and I plat to pot the larger 2 in the next day or 2 since they have a good root ball going. The last one to be cloned has not got enough roots yet but is doing very well. I have picked put a T5 veg light to use and will be ordering it tomorrow morning. It is a T5 HO 4 bulb 96W aquarium light with 6500K bulbs. Same thing as a Sun Blaze only cheaper. Being an aquarium hobbiest I have found that the lighting is the same types for growing plants as it is growing fresh water aquarium plants or marine corals.

Well my light came in and I now have 144 watts of HO T5 is my veg closet, equal to 11,400 lumens. Picked put some potting soil and planted the 2 larger clones into some coco pots then they will be going into 3 gallon pots after a few more weeks. Using Kellogg potting soil. I will post up some pics of the new lights and of the ladies.

The new light is really making a difference, growth has increased noticeably. Got some more clones for the grow to have more variety. 2 Blue Dream one of my favorites to smoke and one Pandora's Box. Only thing is I have too much Sativa, I wanted at least 1-2 Indicas in the garden. But oh well I can change that by getting some clones off my grow buddy's Headband plant. All the new clones I got and the last NYD are ready to be potted and go from clones. Going to Home Depot and AP Nursery today to get the last few things I need. I should be able to get some pics up soon.

It looks like you're doing well, keep going. Remember if using CFL you'll want more light for flowering than in your pics, the flourescent tubes are a good gentle ambient light but consider investing in higher wattage CFL bulbs to take on the primary light role as the plants evolve. As they get bigger, the energy supplied by the tubes won't be able to keep up with demand. It'll work, but a few more potent CFL's will help. I'm a CFL fan, but you do need to have more rather than less of them. Normally when I have some spare cash, I invest in another bulb, and its not long before you have a setup that they could probably see from orbit, lol

Here is the final touches done in the veg cabinet. I made 3 clones of my buddy's Headband so hope they do well. I moved the cloning dome up to the shelf and moved 1 of the 24W T5 up there with it. I added a 21W NO T5 to replace the 1 I moved. And pics of the new clones.
