The Golden Seed

hi,
yeah I'm another crazy man who's about to grow, I've set up a grow box, gonna be growing with cfl's, maybe later switch to hps
and the interesting part is that I only have one seed (it's feminized), so I don't have a 100% that I'll be growing.(I'll probably buy seeds if I don't succeed)
so my plan is to grow a mother plant and take clones from it.

So maybe somebody did this already, or have some advice to make the seed grow into a strong mother? :leaf:

a feminized seed is a good start, as far as advice just use all the info you can find on here
good soil, lighting, ventilation are the keys - do that and you probably will get a strong mother

From what I have researched about finding and keeping a mother is to grow regular seeds b/c they have more stable genetics and are less likely to hermie. Feminized seeds have much higher hermie rates than regular, and clones taken from a feminized mother will keep the same traits. If your planning on using a mother plant to sustain growing I suggest purchasing a pack of regular seeds (say 10), weed out all the males and then you'll have roughly 5 females to clone from at your choosing.

Yeah I agree but I just wanna try my luck here, if it grows fine I'll be watching it every day so I'll try to keep the stess minimum :)

I read a lot in here, I just need some practice. I'll grow about 4plants flowering and on each one try out a diferent technice like topping, suppercoping to find out which is best for me

But do you take clones, cause from seed not every plant is strong and healthy, I heard that some dude grew like for 4 years fron only one clone :O

you certainly won't be guaranteed a cloneable plant from a feminized seed, but that's true for regular seeds, there are a few plants that won't clone well
but i have seen many feminized femmes used for clones, but i haven't used one yet for clones myself

probably if it doesn't turn out well for me, I'll buy 10 regular seeds
do you think nirvana seeds are a reliable source?(the ones that others say are good, have very expensive seeds)

i've grown nirvana's PPP and california orange, both were very close to their descriptions, so no complaints
i ordered them through another seed bank(seed boutique), but many get them directly through nirvana
seem to a fairly good rep for delivery, but any seed order has risks in getting your seeds
