Drug War, and Friendship

A friend of mine (closer to my sister, but I've known this girl forever) posted on Facebook about how she is sober now, and she now knows who her real friends are, and it makes her life so much better. I wanted to reply, to tell her the reason she never had real friends while using drugs. But I didn't want to bring her down off her "new to sober"-high.
It's important to point out that she was crazy with drugs. Like not just smoking, and tripping and thinking. She was drinking a lot, starting (maybe before then, but this is when I met her) when she was about 12 years old. Like heavy party drinking, and dating 25 year olds and shit. I'm assuming she had a "candy-kid" phase, and maybe even some worse drugs. And I'm almost positive she was a "Bar Baby" (REALLY into Xanax) for a while. Now she's around 20 yrs old.

But here was the reply I wrote, and didn't post (I didn't want to bring down her mood, or be a bitch by bringing up the past):
"This is why they say "If you're scared go to church". Not everyone can handle being thrown into the middle of a war, and that's what it is when you do anything classified as a drug. It's a drug war. You don't constantly try to get higher and higher on heavier and heavier stuff. And you don't look for friendship in war, friends are fair whether fans. You look for brotherhood. The guy that would take a bullet for you, and you for him. Not just the people that help you get high/drunk, because they want to get high/drunk too. Those aren't brothers or sisters, those are just friends. Even a Federal agent will try to get high with you for years, just to bust you in the end."

Newly sober people often go to extremes with their new toy and alienate a few people.
They also rarely get sober the first time and hopefully learn a bit of humility from that on their own.
I like the fact that you diddnt post it as it would really solve nothing and what the hell
maybe this clean lifestyle is what she needs to live a better life. Some people simply lack the ability to moderate
and I`m always happy for them when they escape, even if they are a bit douchey. At least they arent stealing
my hubcaps and shit. She is a good tool for you to practice tolerance on. Or Smack her off that pink cloud. lol

I wish I would have posted it to Facebook.

But then I sound like I'm just defending drugs, and promoting their use. When that isn't my intention at all. I just want people to realize why their drug friends aren't real friends.

They keep everything you post and all your data forever. Post something stupid as a teenager and it will come back to haunt you years later. Some employers are demanding your log in info as a condition of hire.

Delete your facebook and you will be a happier person....
 Not really

Facebook is just a way for me to stay in contact with my peeps from states I don't live in anymore. Which is a good thing for me.
It's usually not drama. I just felt strongly opposed to what this long time friend-ish person had said.

 Can't do that to me. My real name isn't associated with a facebook, so no employer could ever find me.
Unless they somehow already know who FinShaggy is. But then I know they smoke weed.

You can deactivate but you WILL return.
Resistance is futile!

Smart software lol.
I have one account with mostly family and another with friends so I can be disgusting.
I`m not looking to get hired but I feel for the younger peeps who used their real names
and went apeshit. A few of my buds are gonna cry themselves to sleep under a bridge.

Some FB's are DL verified. So you may have just got denied because you were making a fake of a person that has been 100% verified on their own account.
